Paladins

If there's one thing even more annoying than a clerics, it's a motherfucking paladin. Paladins are the subject of endless jokes, due generally to their reputation as lawful do-gooders who will strike people down for the smallest transgressions. Though this reputation isn't entirely unearned, it would be fair to say that most paladins are much easier to get along with than popular conceptions would have one believe. Similar to monks, there is a common misconception that a paladin must be devoted to a deity in order to utilize their holy powers, but this is not true; a paladin's oaths may be to an ideal, a kingdom, or all manner of being. It is the belief that powers a paladin, not a god. Though most people would be in no rush to share a drink with a paladin, they enjoy a generally positive reputation due to their combined skill as warriors and healers, making them a welcome sight in times of trouble.   Renown: 8/10
