Grasswater Boots

I wasn't able to finish this article during Summer Camp, but here's a stub of what I'd wanted to write.   "A garment traditionally associated with a culture"

A quote would go here. Maybe one from a local admiring their new boots?

Heading

Grasswater boots are named for their dual purpose: to be useful in the high grasses of the dry season as well as the high waters of the flood season.
  • functional over everything else, and a necessary item for anyone who regularly works outdoors
  • made of treated leather and typically worn up to the knee
  • one pair of boots, if taken care of, would easily last a decade or more
  • they end up perfectly fitting the person who wears them, and are a common item left at the House of Still Water
  • Grasses

  • used to protect the legs from nettles and thorns as well as prevent biting insects from getting to the skin
  • trousers are tied over the tops of the boots to ensure no bugs get in the boot or under the clothes
  • Waters

  • relatively waterproof
  • allows for stepping through several inches of water without getting soaked
  • Information

    Used for
Traversing tall grasses or high waters
    Made of

    Trivia

    Heading

  • now becoming a fashion item for tourists, sold for way more than they're worth at events like Festival of Halinn
  • less durable and more decorative, decorations wouldn't survive the floods
  • some get annoyed - as if their culture is being exploited for profit, or their craft is being belittled
  • others see it as nothing more than a way for Qiampians to make money off the attention they're getting
  • Another quote here. Maybe a tourist gushing over the boots?

  • Qiampian - the ethnicity the boots are tied to
  • Flooding of the Mehr - the cycle of dry/flood is why they need these boots
