Episode 7

After the opening, Sophia turns around to tell everyone that they have arrived at Burheim. Kellie looks upset but changes her expression to that of curiosity and sits up to see ahead and looks in awe. Alice and Clover peek out the rear window to see what they are talking about and also gasp in awe when they look ahead. The camera turns around to see the entrance of Burheim. The city stretches past both sides of the camera and the giant cable from the Space Elevator. “(Sophia) Yep we are here.” The scene jumps to after they have entered the city. Kellie comments “It’s so big, all I can see are buildings.” “(Sophia) Yep, second biggest city in the empire besides the capital. The trading super power of the nation, and of course it contains the only way to access space on the planet. Yeah, you could say it’s a pretty big deal.” “(Kellie curious) access space?” “(Sophia) yep, that giant cable in the center is the second biggest, (remembers something) or is it third biggest, (shakes her head) well it used to be the first biggest Archotech artifact that we have found. I haven’t ever rode on it, you need to be either in the military or have a license and fill out all sorts of paperwork and unless you have a ship it doesn’t really matter, but it’s a pretty cool landmark none the less.” The scene moves to Sophia parking the truck in a plaza and speaking “Well it has been fun traveling with you all bunch here we must go our separate ways, I wish you all the best of luck and I hope you do the same to me.” Everyone gets out of the truck and meets up front. Alice speaks first “Clover and I are going to start our musical journey. We thank you for allowing us to travel with you for the journey and we will always remember your kindness (Everyone waves as they walk away).” “(Sophia notices Kellie frowning) What’s wrong, (jokes) already missing me?” “(Kellie) No, well yeah that too, but it’s just I’ve been practicing magic for nearly a week and I still haven’t gotten to use it. I felt so useless that one night when my village was burned and I hoped magic would make me feel like I can protect myself but it’s hard to actually know that my efforts haven got to waste when Will deals with any threat in an instant and doesn’t keep me out of his sight!” “(Sophia chuckles) You know you should count yourself lucky, you have your own white knight to keep you out of trouble, boy I would be in much a better place if someone would stick around with me and help me.” “(Kellie) I know but I just don’t feel like I’m being taken seriously.” “(Sophia) don’t worry, Will is a bit over protective but he should lighten up.” “(Kellie) If you say so.” “(Sophia) Well stay out of trouble ok kiddo?” “(Kellie thankful) Ok, thanks Sophia for taking us here.” “(Sophia) No problem, (turns to Will who is walking towards them) until next time Will, cya.” Will and Kellie waves as Sophia gets into the truck and drives away. Before Will can speak, Kellie announces “Ok, we are going to find my parents, follow me.” She walks off as Will nods and follows suite. A montage of Kellie asking around people and getting little results along with getting annoyed at Will for little things until she has had enough when Will follows her into the bathroom. She yells at Will and tells him to go away and to read a book or anything that isn’t staring down her neck. Will looks sad and nods before walking away. Kellie watches as he walks away before he is out of view. She turns around and walks the other way and states “Finally, I can finally be independent and show that I don’t need to be constantly babied. And you know what (She takes off the shirt (and she has the shirt she wore before underneath) that Will give her after he gave Alice a hoodie) I don't need any help, I can do this on my own. (She stares at her shirt for a while and feels bad) I probably should go find him, I don’t want him getting into trouble.” Kellie then turns back and looks around for Will. She sees someone who looks similar to Will duct into an alley and thinks it’s him. She turns around a corner in an alley and sees a bunch of thugs crouching around. They notice her and ask what’s her business is. Kellie flustered “Oh sorry, I thought someone I knew went down here. You haven’t seen a guy, blonde hair and blue eyes. One of the thugs, the one who she mistaken Will for, gets up and raises his hand. Kellie furrows her brow “No not you, he has…” “(Blonde thug) Well maybe I am the guy you are looking for.” They begin to surround her. “(Kellie) Hey back off, don’t make me hurt you (She makes a mana sphere in her hand).” “(Blonde thug) oh no guys we got a magician on our hands (the other thugs laugh or pretend to be scared).” “(Kellie angry, talking underneath her breath) I’ll teach you for not taking me seriously.” She then throws her mana sphere and it hits the Blonde square in the face, his head knocks backward from recoil but really only roughing his hair, he sneers “Ok then magician, my turn (He then forms a larger mana sphere in his hand).” Kellie looks shocked and takes a step back in fear. Blonde thug says “I’ll show you what you get when you mess up my hair…” he moves his hand back getting ready to throw but suddenly a bullet hits him in the head and blood sprays out as he falls to the floor. Kellie looks to her right relieved, thinking that Will came back. Her smile sinks as she sees Obsidian holding a P36 Carbine. The other thugs freeze for a moment before one of them shouts “cmon guys let’s get her!” They begin to rush her before she begins to quickly shoot down each of them. One of them reaches her and before he can stab her she grabs his wrist and electrocutes him using Electromancy. There is one guy left who is standing there in fear. Once he realizes he is all alone he drops his weapon and raises his hands announcing his surrender. Obsidian closes her eyes giving a sweet smile before shooting him in the head. Obsidian walks over to a confused and terrified Kellie before kneeling before her. Obsidian asks “Are you alright? I saw those mean thugs about to attack you so I came to help.” “(Kellie confused and scared) Who… Who are you?” “(Obsidian) Oh allow me to introduce myself, I am Obsidian, Archotech researcher.” “(Kellie shaken but calmed down) Thank you.” “(Obsidian) Don’t worry about it, I can’t stand by when a friend of mine is in trouble.” “(Kellie confused) friend?” “(Obsidian) Of course, anyone who is a friend of Will is a friend of mine.” “(Kellie relieved) You know Will! Have you seen him?” “(Obsidian) Yes, me and Will have a long history together. But let’s not discuss in this dirty alleyway. I knew a nicer place where we can talk.” Obsidian leads Kellie out of the alleyway and into a small bar along the side of the road. After going inside, they go up the stairs to the right to enter a private lounging area. Kellie sits in front of the roadside window while Obsidian lounges in the corner. Kellie leaves the shirt Will gave her on a table by the window. Once Kellie gets settled “So you knew Will?” “(Obsidian) Yes I have, we have been helping each other for a long time.” “(Kellie) Have you seen him? I am trying to find him.” “(Obsidian) Last time I saw him was when you two were together.” “(Kellie saddened) oh, (remembering something) that was cool what you did, with your hands.” “(Obsidian) Are you talking about my Electromancy?” “(Kellie excited) Yeah that! I have started practicing spells for the past week and have hit a dead end with my progress since my teacher specializes in a class of magic I can’t perform, could you teach me some Electromancy?” “(Obsidian startled by the request) Oh! Well, (looks up, thinking for a moment) I suppose I could try teaching you a small bit.” “(Kellie excited clapping) Yay! Where do we start?” “(Obsidian thinking for a bit) What I used is called Electromancy, it’s the magic of creating electrical currents. It’s one of the simpler classes of magic as it really only has one ‘spell’. However that spell ranges from a little shocking touch to firing lightning out of your hands. Electromancy uses magic based off primarily three criteria: the amount of voltage, the distance, and the conductivity of everything nearby. The more voltage you use, the more magic you consume, the last two are sort of connected since they are sort of the same thing. Passing electricity from your hand directly to your target as apposed of hitting them from afar through the air is far less magic intensive. Since the air is a resistor, it’s difficult to push electricity through the air. You use magic energy to motivate the current to follow the path you want. If there is conductors, such as metal, you have to use additional magic energy to prevent the arc from grounding itself. (She looks at Kellie who looks completely lost) Whatever, for you, you just need to worry about shocking something you touch. Here, grab my hand and you can give me a SMALL shock. (Kellie nods enthusiastically and leans forward to grab her hand in an arm wresting form) Ok now concentrate on your hand and focus on generating electricity before releasing it on me.” Kellie closes her eyes and concentrates really hard. The camera focuses on her mind as she imagines her arm as electricity arcs spark around it in her mind. Slowly the charge builds up and begins arcing rapidly before Obsidan gasps. Kellie opens her eyes in confusion and her face turns to shock as both the camera and her look at her arm. Her arm is all blue and malformed with feathers poking out. A second later her arms returns to normal and Kellie grasps it in panic. She shouts to Obsidian “What happened to me? Did I do it wrong?” “(Obsidian mad and upset and looking away from her) No you did it alright, you did it darn well.” “(Kellie) Well then what was that?” “(Obsidian taking a second to breathe before answering as if the words are hard to say) You are a Morpher , a morpher with Morphism B whose triggering event is electricity.” “(Kellie shocked, staring at her arm) Wh, Wh, What does that mean?” “(Obsidian sighs, not wanting to talk anymore) When you experience a powerful electrical current, you transform into a disgusting beast.” “(Kellie confused and scared) Well how do I stop it?” “(Obsidian sad, snappy, now looking at her straight on) You don’t! You are stuck as a freak for the rest of your life. This is who you are now. (She then looks away before calming down but still being mad) Where is Will?” “(Kellie panicking) I don’t know! I got upset that he kept babying me and wouldn’t leave me alone so I told him to give me some space. He promised my parents to keep me safe but wouldn’t let me do anything without him watching.” “(Obsidian stands up, furious) of course, want to know why he sticks close to you, like some lost puppy? It’s because his first friend died within his hands. He promised to keep them safe and he failed. (She calms down again) Just get out of my sight.” Suddenly the door opens and Will pokes in a bit confused. Kellie stands up relieved to see him again and Obsidians turns around and blasts him in the head with her P36 Carbine. Will falls back and collapses down the stairs. Kellie stands their shocked and rushes down the stairs. Obsidian turns around and opens a window to a fire escape which she jumps down to the floor from and leaves to the street. The camera jumps to Kellie over Will panicking and teary eyed “Oh my gods are you alright!” “(Will bends up perfectly fine) Yeah I’m alright.” “(Kellie leans back in shock) What the heck you got shot it the head how are you even calm about it!” “(Will) Oh it just ricocheted my forehead, it didn’t penetrate my skull so I’m fine (Will points to the hole in his head where the skin broke off with his metal skull still intact and not even dented).” “(Kellie surprised) Still are you not in pain? She just shot you in the head and you act like nothing happened.” “(Will) I don’t feel physical pain, if it weren’t for the force of the bullet pushing me back I probably wouldn’t even notice it happened.” “(Kellie kneels there for a moment before embracing Will and crying again) I’m so sorry for yelling at you I didn’t know.” “(Will confused) No Problem?” “(Kellie) How did you find me? Where you following me the entire time?” “(Will) No I was doing as you asked and reading a book.” “(Kellie taken back) What?” “(Will) You said that I should read a book so I went to the library, you didn’t really specify what book so I just thought I would read them all in the book shop.” “(Kellie freezes, absolutely taken aback and completely confused) I just, I can’t even process what has happened in the past 10 minutes but how did you find me?” “(Will) I saw your shirt by the window. Since it’s a one of a kind outside of mine, I had to at least hold some clue and I found you.” “(Kellie given up on trying to understand what’s going on and is just happy to have found Will) Well I’m sorry, I understand that it’s a dangerous world and you were just worried.” “(Will) I am sorry too, I now understand that my actions haven’t given you any sense of freedom or independence and some actions may be considered ‘creepy’.” “(Kellie laughing) Well let’s get back to the original plan of rescue if my parents.” “(Will nods) I agree.” The camera pans upward and the closing begins. After the closing ends Will and Kellie are walking down the street talking with a big white bandage on Will’s bullet hole and Kellie is wearing the shirt again. “(Kellie) So what do you mean you read a book?” “(Will) yeah you told me to go read a book so I went and found a bookstore and proceeded to read all the books.” “(Kellie) How many books were there? It wasn’t like you were gone for days.” “(Will) 234 Books.” “(Kellie shocked) What? How?” “(Will) It was simple, I can read at roughly 20,000 words a second so I just skimmed through book after book.” A scene of Will brushing through books shows him reading super fast. “(Kellie) I feel like every day you manage to surprise me somehow. So you read an entire bookstore?” “(Will) Yes and from all the knowledge in the wide variety of books I believe I have an increased understanding of people and the world around me…” Suddenly a guy and a girl bump into each other. The guy falls in one of those classic anime tropes where he falls into a lucrative position and the girl slaps him in response. Will comments on the situation “Those two have an 80 percent chance of getting married” “(Kellie) Oh Olyn” and the episode ends.
