He is however also a compulsive liar and prone to burst of eccentricity. Able to switch over to his fortune-telling-conman persona at the drop of a hat.
When he made Olivia Ballesteros believe his fortune telling capabilitieshe gained himself one relentless stalker. Unbeknownst to Charles, his soon-to-be-sire kept close tabs on him. Increasingly coming to the belief that he could in fact see the future. This terribly successful con earned him the Embrace. Joining the ranks of the damned and dead. Even worse, the Malkavians. Now doomed to forever suffered their clan's curse; he himself becoming a compulsive liar as the truth became increasingly terrifying to him.
Though this had an unexpected silver lining, as he now recieved genuine premonitions of past, present and future. An ability he has used to great effect for tracking his coterie's targets when on Hound business.
