Raxxian Stratocracy

The Raxxian Stratocracy is a minor yet formidable faction that governs the star systems of Raxx, Iridonia, Wasskah and Balnab. Rooted deeply in the martial traditions of the Raxxian species, this militarized state enjoys overwhelming support among the Raxxians of its homeworld. Its governance, structured around rigid discipline and collective duty, is an extension of the Raxxian way of life, a society where service and order define every aspect of existence. Despite its relatively small size, the Raxxian Stratocracy commands respect as a disciplined and self-sufficient military power. Its people are united under a single purpose: the preservation of their culture, security, and independence. While many galactic factions struggle with internal division, the Raxxians remain steadfast

Structure

The Stratocracy is governed by a centralized Council of High Commanders, each overseeing key pillars of governance including military strategy, internal security, infrastructure, logistics, and foreign affairs. Below them, Clan Commanders administer the local affairs of Raxxian communities, serving as both military officers and civic leaders. The administrative framework is lean and tactical, designed for rapid decision-making and strategic alignment. Civilian services such as education, construction, and law enforcement are all organized under military branches. This reinforces the belief that all labor is service and every Raxxian, from child to elder, contributes to the collective strength. In annexed systems like Iridonia, and in subordinate states such as Wasskah and Balnab, local authorities maintain a degree of autonomy but ultimately answer to Raxxian Command representatives or military governors.

History

Once considered second-rate citizens and subordinate warriors in the human empire, the Raxxians used their role in the imperial legions to build a reputation for discipline and skill. As the empire collapsed in civil war, Raxxians fought both for and against their former masters. Some remained loyal to noble houses, while others sold their blades as elite mercenaries. When the old imperial hold fractured, the Raxxians seized the opportunity to take back their homeworld. Through strategic acumen and martial organization, they reclaimed Raxx and formed the foundation of the Stratocracy.   In the years since, they have expanded. Iridonia was annexed as a vital industrial node. Wasskah, a small oligarchic world, aligned itself with the Stratocracy in exchange for protection and economic aid. Its ruling elite maintain their own hierarchy but operate under Raxxian oversight. Balnab, a technologically regressed world ruled by a populist dictator, became a formal protectorate. It relies on Raxxian support to maintain order, modernize, and defend its sovereignty.

Territories

Raxx
The birthplace of the Raxxian species and core of the Stratocracy. Raxx is a fortress-world defined by its rugged beauty and militarized infrastructure. Vast mountainous forests, expansive grassland plains, and geothermal geyser fields shape its landscape. Despite its distance from the sun, Raxx endures intense solar radiation due to its weak magnetic field, creating a harsh environment that has forged a resilient people. Its cities double as military installations, and every facet of life is geared toward collective service and defense.   Iridonia
though not originally a Raxxian world, was annexed as part of their strategic expansion. It serves as a resource hub, supplying raw materials for the Stratocracy’s military-industrial complex. Rich in minerals and heavy elements, its planetary infrastructure is focused on mining Though not a Raxxian homeland, its workers are trained under Raxxian oversight, and its skies are patrolled by garrison fleets. Iridonia is loyal by necessity, not culture, but it remains reliable.   Wasskah
A temperate, low-population world governed by a self-replicating oligarchy. Wasskah’s elite maintain internal control but are heavily dependent on Raxxian support. Military advisors coordinate its defenses and oversee training, while a token Raxxian garrison ensures obedience. Though culturally distinct, Wasskah's ruling families value the security and prestige that Stratocratic association brings, and in return allow their planet to serve as a logistics and communications node.   Balnab
A technological backwater, isolated during the Imperial collapse and never reintegrated. Though once more advanced, decades of internal strife and isolation eroded its progress. Its charismatic dictator sought Raxxian aid to consolidate power, and in doing so, made his world a protectorate. Raxxian advisors and military forces now maintain stability in exchange for loyalty and the submission of Balnab’s people and resources.

Military

The Raxxian Armed Forces form the core of the Stratocracy’s power. The military is divided into:
Legions: Elite ground forces trained from birth, specializing in both conventional and guerrilla warfare.
Fleet Command: A space force responsible for patrolling and defending the Stratocracy’s borders, maintaining strict vigilance over potential threats.
Engineering Corps: Tasked with infrastructure development, logistics, and battlefield fortifications, ensuring that Raxxian forces remain operationally self-sufficient.
Internal Security Forces: A military police organization maintaining order and rooting out internal threats such as spies or insurrectionists.

Laws

Laws within the Raxxian Stratocracy are designed to maintain order, loyalty, and efficiency. Crime is rare, as the rigid structure of their society discourages dissent, and punishments are swift and severe. Military courts handle most legal matters, emphasizing collective duty over individual rights. Any act of treason or desertion is met with exile or execution, as betrayal is considered an unforgivable crime. However, the legal system also values meritocracy, rewarding individuals who demonstrate exceptional service or ingenuity in their duties.
