Raxxian

Raxxians are a Avian Sentient species with the most distinguishing feature being a exoskeletal carapace, which contains trace amounts of metals. The Raxxians evolved this trait as a defence against the greater levels of solar radiation that penetrate their home world's weak magnetic field.

Characteristics:

Raxxians have the following modifiers applied to their characteristics: INT+1, END+1  

Traits:

Raxxian Carapace: Raxxians exoskeletal carapace give them a natural resistance to Radiation exposure. Raxxians may suffer 100 rads more before negative effects of radiation exposure is applied. In addition, the carapace grants +6 Protection. this does not stack with worn armor.

Stratocratic: Raxxians affinity toward military life, give them a natural ability to apply Tactics. Raxxians gain a DM+1 to all Tactics checks.  

Ageing:

Owing to their metabolic rate and extended vitality, ageing effects Raxxians travellers differently. starting from 34 years of age (end of 4th term), and at the end of every other term thereafter, the Traveller must roll 2D on the Ageing table. Use the Traveller’s total number of terms as a negative DM on this table;

While Raxx is the ancestral homeworld of the Raxxian species, they can be found far and wide across the galaxy. Due to their history, the Raxxians are not uncommon among the populations of all the major factions. Their remarkable adaptability allows them to seamlessly integrate into the context of the society they find themselves in while maintaining their strong sense of service and self-sacrifice for the greater good.

Raxxian personal names are formal and resonate with the heavy influence of the Galactic Empire. Male names frequently end with firm and martial suffixes such as -us, -ius, -mus, or -ar, while female names favor elegant yet authoritative endings such as -a, -ia, -eia, or -ina.   A Raxxian is always formally identified by their personal name followed by their family name. While family names, often ending in -us, -ianus, -culus, or -aka, signal heritage and status, true prestige lies in clan belonging. On their homeworld, Raxxians are organized into clans led by chieftains known as "Commanders." These leaders, often descendants of veterans of the human empire's conflicts, oversee their clans and uphold Raxxian traditions. The Raxxian military is the heart of their society, but it is not just an armed force; it functions as an all-encompassing public works organization, reflecting their commitment to service. Military police maintain civic order, while fire brigades serve both civilian populations and military facilities. The corps of engineers builds and maintains essential infrastructure such as spaceports, schools, water purification plants, and power stations.
