The Freehold of Rivermeet
A small but growing outpost settlement on the edge of The Frontier. The township derives its name for the intersection of rivers that feed deep into the lands beyond where none of the Kingdoms have laid claim and none have come forward to represent.
The settlement is relatively young, and considered to be one of the prime locations for Adventurers starting off and seeking fortune & glory.
The bulk of the Freehold is on the North-Eastern shoreline, but there are buildings starting to be built on the delta islands.
Defences
As an outpost beholden to no Empire or Nation the town guard are organized more as a regional militia than a standard town guard. They do not pull from any nation's military, and are instead trained by retired officers from the end of the last war. Members split time between peacekeeping in Rivermeet and patroling the wilderness surrounding the town.
Industry & Trade
There is a sustainable amount of agriculture from farms and ranches close to the town. Because the rivers represent an efficient and recognizable travel method into the unexplored Fronteer the trade in food represents an excellent reason for merchants and guild houses to set up business, and coin from multiple nations is traded freely.
Within Rivermeet there is an informal currency backed by the wealth of House Dallen. It is meant primarily to ease trade between locals, and often it will receive preferential pricing rates against the currency of "outsiders".
