Aferchites

[...] Nothing represents more in Paranis than the embodiment of Nature. Aferchites are creatures just like us, bound to rules, but their necessary comfort is different from ours, the Primers. Besides that, they're so important in this...symbiosis between us and them, and Primentis in general. Removing just one Aferchites Pack from their natural environment would be the downfall of this area, with strong consequences impacting the nearby Primers.       The Aferchites are creatures, originated from the Primentis branch. They were created as a test from Afernaza, Fjörgynn, and Aztodral to recreate in certain aspects the Primer Races society with different handcrafted creatures. As time passed, the two previously mentioned entities held their own Pack, a term used to describe the group under the Afernarian rulership and the race became so important within Paranis that a lot of symbiosis between the different Afernarian and the local Primer Races civilizations were made, making them important or essential for the Primers to survive properly.   The term etymology comes from Afernaza and -chites (pronounced "Kaï-t-ss") probably comes from an Ancient Kharis or Hansean term for "offspring".

History

The origins of the Aferchites date back to the Pure Kharises space colonizations around the 18th and 17th centuries. Located on Terradomum, Afernaza and Theiamat discovered the Arendmal colony fleet and made contact with them. It was the first time such exchanges were made between Primentis and a Primer Races, as the Space Age just began.   In -1775, Aztodral was created and became the First Intendant which role was to understand how the Primer Races societies were shaped, and later, Fjörgynn was born to shape Aztodral final analysis, thus creating the first Aferchites in -1768, making Fjörgynn the first Afernarian to ever exist in -1756.   These interactions between the Primer Races and Aferchites went further when Edraïstos was created within the Hansean League territory to pursue a goal of trader, a form of work for his kin. Thanks to his great work and relationship with the League, he plays a huge part within their economy, notably through earthwork, especially mining and extracting, refining its resources, and shaping his Pack around this aspect to forage better, but also making it easier for different minerals to "grow" quickly. On her side, Theiamat will move eastward and settle there, within the Kayfen territory.   The real Aferchites "civilisation" is taught to be around -1326 with the first Packs spreads but also Pnökkelkir role to improve the Aferchites and offer a different point of view to Afernaza.   During the 6th century, the Second Intendant was created, Olkor, while Aztodral ruled her own Pack for more than a millennium and moved northward, where Primer Races were less present Olkor's purpose was to enhance the Hieralchia both in terms of understanding and how to improve it further in different ways, focusing on the sense of belonging to the Hieralchia and the Pack itself.   This objective also had a more subtle goal, because of Pnökkelkir influence and how he should reach his goal to improve the Paranis Sector but also the Aferchites themselves. He noticed during his works among the civilisations and throughout history that the fastest way for a civilisation or a Pack to evolve is through conflict, and would cause, a century later, the Ragnarök.   During this period, several Afernarians were corrupted or influenced through the Hieralchia influence made by Olkor and Pnökkelkir causing conflicts all around Paranis.   Pnökkelkir's death will occur circa 1770, after a raid to recapture the Jörmugandr by Theiamat.   The Ragnarök would end around 1800, but will officially end during the Olkor's case, where he went rogue through Pnökkelkir schemes on Sancta, killing Euryale who defended her pack and the Sanctarians from Olkor's burning corruption.   Since the Ragnarök, several survivors, who were corrupted by Pnökkelkir like Hezcaitel are still traumatized to this day.   Afterwards, Aztodral moved to Arrhein and the planet became what could be named Headquarters for the Aferchites.   The Reforging Period was a long breath of fresh air necessary to everyone, including the Aferchites, and Afernarian as a whole, where Olkor works were applied to change and improve the Hieralchia and the different Packs in different ways.   In 2400, a new Primentis race will appear with the spawn of Priases led by Pok'Rias. Their purposes is totally different and still blurry for a lot of nations, yet, several Afernarians remains on their grounds or even hostile towards them, while the nations could fear a 2nd Ragnarök with Primentis in the middle of the conflict while the Primer Races will suffer and be collateral targets from such a grand scale warfare. Until now, though, it's more of a cold war, and more territory skirmishes between Afernarian and their Packs and the invading Priases seeking to spread for further communications and new areas to discover.   During the Sancta's War, Medustyale led several of her Aferchites to silence the rebellion led by Ar'Feanör who used his cursed flames given as torture from Olkor to kill some of his kin. The Priases also tried to infiltrate themselves during the conflict, but were quickly repelled by Medustyale strategies and uses of her Pack with the help of the Sanctarians defending themselves.  

What are they ?

 

Physiology

  As told, Aferchites are mostly animal-like creatures that can be seen all around the Paranis Sector. In their early days were only a handful of types of creatures made to pursue specific goals. These specifics were kept so each creature would have a specific purpose to make the Pack survive, yet several also possess a more general body type to fulfill different roles. One of the most known to use as examples is the Afling.   It is from the faelidae branch and probably the Aferchite with the most variation ever made. Besides its genetic simplicity, the creature has also been simplified in some aspects to pursue its purpose as scouts, feeders, but also hunters as a quick frontline attacker.
  First, their fur pattern disappeared and left a slightly thicker skin, especially on the back to make them more resistant to flank attacks, but also making it easier for them to use their Ubervia to enhance themselves and reach great speeds. Their paws are way stronger than their usual counterparts and by this means, taller and longer, approximating 1.55m tall. Therefore, it's longer for them to breed through sexual ways.   Most Aferchites use the natural breeding form to spread. Some cases during the Ragnarök showed a "warfare" breeding where the genetic codes of different creatures from the pack were replicated almost industrially and had a swarming effect for war, but reduced by a lot (~80-90%) the amount of harvested supplies for the different Pack systems to work properly. It reduced their capacity to spread, evolve, create, but also have what could be considered an Aferchite life within their original purposes, mixing the wilderness of animals, within a society built from Primer Races.   See Afernarian article for more informations on their systems.  
Each of them, as mentioned before, uses the Quadracet to fulfill their goal but also to survive. Indeed, the Primentis can get hungry and thirsty, but both of these sensations fulfill their needs of Essence, common to all Primentis, whoever they are.(not to misinterpret with Essentia, which are different things.)   This is one of the most important resources when raising or spreading the Pack, besides more common needs, making their systems complex enough to have a loop of proper feeding and drinking for every creature. Still, this Essence supply needed to survive and uses their own Quadracet if it can, as some creatures don't use it as a constant. It remains useful if they are ordered to, or in necessary cases, such as frontline charges with Ubervia, enhanced charges.  

Psychology

 
Edraïstos...what can I say about him ? I-I mean...he's the Prospector, and older than like what, 20 generations further back from my family... *giggles*. He is charismatic, his in-depth understanding of our world is almost frightening...I mean, he shaped it somehow. But his way of mixing his authority as a High Afernarian working hand in hand with us gives him such an aura. He's a co-worker to our eyes, and working within the Haidean encourages us to pursue...simply joy~, I don't know what else I could say.   As previously mentioned, Aferchites' psychology is truly dependent on their Pack and its needs. Individually, most Aferchites psyches are very similar to animals, sentient creatures, yet not fully sapient. Higher evolved creatures would be as intelligent or even more intelligent than the usual Primer Races entities, who are hyperspecialized in a specific field within their Pack.   Determine the specific intelligence or psychological capacities of an individual within a Pack is tough. In fact, the Hieralchia is designed to prioritize the Pack's needs over individuality; even if all life is precious, the Pack's influence and well-being take precedence over its members' survival. As a Pack, they prosper; as an individual, they survive. (Plus de détails entre Aferchites/Primentis)   Their relationship with the Primer Races races is mostly a case-by-case thing. Each pack would have a distinct bias towards its neighbors, including other life forms. Some live gladly with them, like Degor's pack, some work and make the whole Primer Races mining industry prosper through Edraïstos pack.   Overall, there is always a minimum of communication between the local Pack representatives and the local Primer Races representatives; some diplomats' careers are shaped around this aspect, as they serve as mediators between the Civilized Wilderness and Civilization as a whole.   (Plus de détails internationaux)
