They beckon you other with tales of mystery, and friendship, and joy. They are on and adventure to somewhere you have heard of but do not know. They ask if you would like to join them...

Origins and History

Strions first appeared on the planet Strion many, many thousands of years ago back when the universe was young and humanity had not yet awoken. They are an adventurous folk, constantly driven by a curiosity for the world around them, and a need to develop technologically. They are incredibly skilled in biology, plant science, construction and navigation. However even though they have great understanding of technology, they often choose to use older, more reliable methods instead. Particularly, when it comes to exploration and discovery, they choose to do everything by themselves without the help of technology.

Environment

Home Planet

Strions are native to the planet Strion, a planet in The Orion System. This planet has a harsh, humid climate with unpredictable lightning storms and weather. Because of this, Strions have adapted to a unique way of life where the outside world is both curious but also threatening. They have learned how to be cautionary in their exploration, but also how to live alongside their planet in harmony.   One example of this is the way they adapted to the lack of edible plants that survived in Strions climate. Because of the unique climate of their planet, finding a sustainable food source has often been a challenge. However, by developing new technologies, Strions have been able to find ways to enhance nutrition in the small amount of plant life that was already thriving.    

Appearance

Physical Appearance

Strions are humanoid creatures with large goat-like horns. Their skin can be a range of colours including yellows, oranges, reds and browns which is useful for camouflaging themselves into the landscape of Strion. They are around 6ft in height, with male strions tending to be slightly shorter than females. Every Strion has green eyes, although the intensity of this colour varies with age with young Strions having pale green eyes that grow darker and more vivid with age.

Clothes and Accessories

Strions tend to dress in a range of naturally coloured fabrics including browns, reds and creams. These fabrics are made from plants found on the surface of Strion, although some are also enhanced through automated and technological processes. Because of the changing climate, Strions tend to wear lots of light layers that can be removed or adjusted depending on the weather.   Their choices of clothing are practical and designed to last many years being worn outdoors and in a harsh environment because even though they do not face much wear and tear during everyday life, they must also be suited for being worn during an adventure that may last many months.

Culture

Lifespan and Age

In general, Strions live for approximately 100-150 years (slightly longer than humans) and during this time they go through 5 different life stage: infant, child, adolescent, adult and elder. During these different phases of their life they have different societal expectations and roles that they are expected to fulfil. Elder

Work and Community

When a Strion becomes an adult, they usually choose one of four main industries to pursue as their career: agriculture, technology, healthcare, technological development. To call this a choice however, is not exactly correct, because many young Strions are trained in the work of their parents from a young age and so naturally choose this career as an adult. Even though in technicality they have the freedom of choice, that freedom is often less accepted by their society.
