Wizardry

Wizardry is the disciplined art of studying The Arcana and its numerous affinities — a lifelong pursuit that allows individuals to attune themselves to one or more branches of the Arcana. Through this mastery, various paths emerge, giving rise to the many distinct classes of magic users found throughout the Sisterworld. These classes are often defined by the affinities they wield, the philosophies they follow, and the balance they strike between depth and versatility.

Among them, the most commonly known are:

Black Mage — Generalists and scholars, Black Mages trade depth for breadth. While they rarely achieve mastery over any single affinity, they possess the rare ability to wield multiple primary affinities — such as Fire, Thunder, Wind, and Ice — making them highly adaptable, though never overpowering in any one field.

Red Mages — Specialists in Fire Magica, Red Mages channel flame in both destructive and symbolic ways. Passionate, aggressive, and often flamboyant in both style and casting, they embody the volatile essence of fire itself — from searing flames to smoldering embers.

Blue Mages — Masters of Ice Magica, Blue Mages draw their power from glacial stillness, frost, and preservation. Their magic can slow, freeze, or encase enemies in ice, and often carries a strategic, patient edge that mirrors the creeping nature of frost.

White Mages — In this world, White Mages are attuned to Wind Magica, particularly the branch that governs natural harmony. These mages control nature’s forces..

Green Mage — Shadow weavers and illusionists, Green Mages specialize in Manipulation Magica, particularly its darker aspect: shadow control. They bend perception, cloak movements, and manipulate darkness to confuse and dominate their foes — a subtle but dangerous form of magic.

Gray Mages — Wielders of Ash Magica, Gray Mages embody decay, aftermath, and transformation. Their spells often revolve around the remnants of others.

For more specific Wizards, the word -Mancer may be added to their unique specialty to classify them as mages.
