Badges XP system
Here in Star of Helvetica, instead of using XP or Milestone to determine character levels, we use a system slightly similar to XP that we call badges.
You gain badges by performing various activities, and when you have earned enough badges, you level up.
Every character level (levels 1 through 20) has a certain badge threshold that you must reach in order to level up.
You level up with your badge count equals the badge threshold of that level.

Earning Badges
There are multiple methods of earning badges, however they all generally involve either a quest, or something else ran by an official server DM. The methods of being rewarded badges are as listed below:
- Quest Completion
- Session Duration
- DMing Badges
- Bonus Badges
- Roleplay Rewards (To Be Determined)
Quest Completion
When a quest's objectives are completed, the DM will proceed to award the players a number of badges for their effort. If the players don't complete all of the objectives the DM may reward less badges or none if they find it suitable. The number of badges given for completing all objectives is determined by the DM before the session begins by assigning the quest a difficulty level, the table below suggests the amount of badges earned based on the dificulty level of the quest.Session Duration
Any activity that is ran/overseen by a DM becomes eligible for duration based badge rewards. The rate for duration based badges is 1 badge for every three hours.DMing Badges
DMs have the right to earn badges to one of their characters at a time by running activities such as quests, Downtime activities, etc. The rate at which DMs earn badges is 1 badge for every two hours.Bonus Badges
At the end of any activity, the DM may award up to an extra badge to individual players if they find it suitable. This is entirely up to the DM and it can be for many reasons such as good RPing skills or good D&D etiquette. DMs may award more than one Bonus badge, but it requires staff permission.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
