Audio and Video Recording
History
There is some evidence to suggest that during the height of the The Saikar Empire, a thriving industry of visual storytelling emerged; however, it seemed to rely on small scale audiences and a more intimate audience-projection relationship, due to the difficulty to viewing the full details of holograms at a distance. The quality of these is unknown, as they the Dataspheres they were recorded on were either destroyed or written over.
Utility
Rather than the 2D images that we know, visuals are recorded in 3 dimensional space, and are viewed in holographic form through Holo-Tables. The amount of space recorded can sometimes be controlled by the recording device, depending on the quality and scale of it.
Due to the complicated, expensive nature of projection and recording devices, there is wide-spread industry of storytelling through holograms. Instead, they are primarily used in the advertising, reconnaissance, security, and communications industries. However, in some rich circles, some attemps have been made at creating visual art for display to small audiences. Another complication in the development of a visual storytelling industry is that the quality of these holograms is not particularly high.
