Physical Description
Very athletic, in constant training, but he can go down hard with his medical condition if he is careless.
He has well-developed chest muscles and is lean and light on his feet. He has instinctual reflexes which have saved his life more than once.
Avis has blue scales all over his body. They glisten sometimes in the right lighting. He keeps his body fully covered both for health reasons and to lessen the embarrassment of being stared at.
Avis wears black trouser pants, a black shirt and a thick thermal hooded cloak. He has the Blue Amulet which he inherited from his father and wears it as a chain around his neck. It is hidden inside his shirt most of the time. He sleeps with it on.
Mental characteristics
Until the Destruction of Therialia, Avis was at home with his parents. He was 4 years old when the Evacuation happened and moved into the Fortress on the Hub with his mother and the royal court.
He began his education isolated from everyone and everything except for trusted tutors. He was educated alongside Princess Brielle and had training for his role as future bodyguard. All education received was to prepare him for this role.
This included marksmanship, hand to hand combat, combat with weapons, first aid, and negotiation skills. At the age of 8, he ran away with Brielle as her bodyguard.
In the Space Docks district, Avis was taken in by locals, and further educated by Master Jade. He became an apprentice healer and continued his training.
Worked with Master Jade to save residents of the Space Docks district from a mysterious illness. They consider him a hero.
Avis has never forgiven himself for being separated from Brielle. He believes he is a failure because he couldn't keep her safe.
He is embarrassed by his medical conditions, especially the Coloured Scales Syndrome which has coloured his scales a vivid blue.
PTSD since childhood caused by the Destruction of Therialia and Evacuation. His father was killed on Therialia, supposedly saving civilians.
Mostly calm, responsible and compassionate. He is a quick learner and is curious.
Duty is more important than anything else. If in doubt do what you should do not what you'd like to do.

Refined manners, tends to be introverted but can respond confidently in a crisis. Needs a calm space to recharge, learning that meditation can help with intense feelings.

History
As children in the Therialian royal court, they were evacuated age 4 with their families to the Hub on the destruction of Therialia. Due to increased paranoia over the war, they are isolated in their own apartment with tutors away from the rest of the family.
Brielle decides to run away age 8, and Avis follows her. They are separated when Brielle meets Tirron and leaves, and Avis is taken in by the people of the Space Docks district. He waits for her return.
She returns age 16, and shortly they discover that a superpowered weapon is at risk of being taken by the enemy. They must get to it first.

History
Avis is the youngest son of the late Duke and Lilliana and the only child with blue scales. He is the only surviving son of the family and her least favourite. She prefered her eldest over all of her other children. After evacuation, she and Avis settled in the royal estate on the Hub where she promptly agreed to have him educated with the princess and fulfil his destiny as her bodyguard. She abandoned him to his destiny and moved on with her life.
Youngest son of a Grand Duke, and only surviving son. Has wealth but no access to it.
