Agna
Agna is the capital of Ankora Province in Palabran. It was founded as a mining town by early Palabrani settlers and continues to serve that function to this day. Some have managed to strike it rich in Agna, founding massive mining companies that extract iron, copper, and even gold from the nearby hills. Others wallow in mud and filth—working long hours so that the rich can get richer.
Agna is therefore a city of contrasts: between rich and poor, between light and dark.
Demographics
According to the most recent census, Agna has a total population of roughly 267,000. 95% of the population of Agna is ethnically Palabrani, with the remaining 5% consisting mostly of Ajardu laborers looking for work. Spirits are not as common in Agna as in nearly Palabran City, but some ogres are employed by the mines and there are rumored to be some earth dragons amongst the elite.
Government
Agna, being the seat of Agna Province, is ruled by an Archon. The Archon of Agna is responsible for both the county of Agna and the province as a whole. The Archon of Agna has control over a contingent of Alavads, who are typically employed as city guards—but who can be levied as soldiers in times of war.

Located west of the Palabrani River, the Artisans’ Quarter is where Agna’s smiths and metalworkers live and work. Folks in search of cheap metalware might buy from the Scraps, a market located across the bridge from Dirt Town. But if money is no object, you’re going to want to stop by Faro’s workshop—where the earth dragon Faro crafts some of the finest weapons and armor pieces in Palabran.The Basilica of Agna
Built ambitiously over the Palabrani River, this impressive structure was built to bridge the gap between the poorer east side of Agna with the more affluent west side. While it has not entirely succeeded, the Basilica is one of the few places in Agna where you might see a miner stand side-by-side with their employer.Rivergrass
Located to the northwest of Agna, Rivergrass is where its most affluent citizens live. The homes here are clean and the streets are quiet, safe, and lined with well-tended green gardens and elegant water fixtures. To the north of Rivergrass, atop a quiet, forested hill, lives the Archon of Agna—who watches over the city with a keen, inquisitive eye.Dirt Town
Dirt Town is the name for all of Agna east of the Palabrani River. Aptly named, it is where the miners of Agna live. Conditions in Dirt Town are squalid in the best parts, yet the atmosphere is always lively. The people of Dirt Town try their best to enjoy what time off they have—resulting in a profusion of rowdy taverns and taphouses throughout the district.Agna
