Shadow Dominions

The Shadow Dominions, sometimes called The Shadow Collective, stood atop the verse as thee most powerful organization by far. Founded ages ago by the Lord of Shadows, Shadow Blackheart, it had risen from a simple guild of the Underworld to something approaching the Legion of a God. Headed by Shadow and his father Worf, as well as their kin within the Blackheart family and several close allies, it stood as a beacon of strength & dominance- not to mention hope for those unfortunate, and terror for those considered enemies. Though recently catastrophy has struck the Blackheart Family, with the loss of Shadow and his cabinet of advisors & leaders due to unknown causes, and the long-since passing of Worf, and the very recent deaths of several of Shadow's own children.   The order has become far less coordinated as opposed to when its leadership stood in command. Atop this, it is stated that Shadow's own will was to undo some of his conquests and to give power back to those under their banner. Many adversaries have arisen since, be them former leaders seeking power of their own or former enemies. With the size of the faction and the lack of coordination from the top, the fall of the Dominions has begun- allowing for other rivals to take power and for smaller gnat groups to take bites out of Dominions gains. Still there is some effort by those who remain to maintain the balance of the Shadow Dominions, the intent being to keep the legacy alive.   Though the Dominions have been a very public and powerful force for centuries there is little to specifically document as they have always been a constant. There have been various battles, various expansions. The Conquest of Soul Society, the hold within the Home Lands, the presence within the ImVu Realm. Many foes have come and gone over the years, many weapons and conflicts have been fought, many people have joined under the Dominions banner.

History

[Admin Note: Unfortunately much of the lore behind the Shadow Dominions is currently unavailable due to the passing of Shadow himself. A detailed overview DOES exist; however our team currently does not have access to Shadow's archives. What records we can provide are based on fragments of memories from over the years. Future 'lore' will only be added when applicable to the overall story as to not corrupt the legacy left.]

Before Home

It is said that before the Home Lands, the Dominions acted as a beacon of hope for the oppressed. They were founded in one of the many Demon Realms and quickly gained power under both Shadow and Worf. Conquering smaller, localized enemies- and quickly working their way up the food chain through alliances and negotiations. Their actions, to help people and to oppose their foes, netted them the hype and glory that would allow for them to blossom.

Warring States & Terminator Wars

Since the beginning years of the Home Lands settlement, the Shadow Dominions had held a presence within- just as they had around many pockets of PSony-3. However they were not as involved with the Warring States nor the Terminator Wars. Instead the Dominions proxied groups such as The Outlaws and the Demonic Arms, less so with the latter. They would fund and supply groups that benefitted their mission to oversee the lands.

Mugen Years

During the Mugen Era, Shadow Dominions held no presence within the Primus Realm. Following the fall of Home they searched for a new Home- finding the ImVu Realm where they would headquarter for the entirety of the Chaos Wars and Mugen Era.

The War of the Great Powers

Fall of the Family

During the 7th Month of the PSony-3 calendar, a -REDACTED- occurred in which Shadow Blackheart and several of his commanders were felled. It is stated they they were battling -REDACTED- for months on end. Though reports state that the enemy was felled after weeks of battle without rest, the cost was significant. Then only a few months later the next heir, Geno Latios Blackheart, would be felled by Tatara Remnants in the Primus Realm following Geno's campaign to pacify Demonic Arms Resistance Groups.   In the months that followed- various splinter cells broke off from the Dominions. Pacified rivals began to rebel, rival orders began to declare war and sweep up land, communications would begin to break down. While this has not occurred across all realms of which the Dominions has holdings in- it has affected many. Factions led by regional rulers would also begin to break off. Since the 10th Month of the Calendar, the Dominions have been involved in the War of the Great Powers with no end in sight.
