Military: Battle
A normal day on the train is interrupted by loud explosions, the entire train rattling coming to a halt! The loss of power causes the safety to trip and force open all the doors and windows, leaving the train cars vulnerable to all waiting goblins!
The party and a few NPCs are in one of the middle train cars when the fight broke out. As the goblins set upon the train it was the keen-eyed catfolk who ran for the fuse box and started to try and get power back to the train car to activate the automatic defense turret. As goblins climbed up and into the car they were easily picked off by the party. Walker's quick trigger finger was deadly, Nykyras' buffs and blade found their marks, Phosphorous' flaming birds reduced much to ash, and the duo of Cass and Auri both held the line with ease. Unfortunately for the other train cars they were not so fortunate. A human, harpy, lamia, orc, and dwarf all met their ends by the dogslicers. As more goblins poured into the train car the party was unable to save a small sprite or the odd goblin Zlergh from meeting the same end as the other cars. The Catfolk managed to restore power and activate the defense turret which immediately set about decimating goblin ranks. Thanks PlasCo! Just as the day seemed won, Walker leaves the safety of the train car intent on making sure they can save the conductor. Unfortunately he walks straight into a group of goblins that were advancing on the car from the next one over and is immediately overran. By some miracle the goblins fail to finish Walker off, the cleric Nykyras saving them again and again even as they are repeatedly brought back to death's door. Once the goblins realize the automated defense turret is brought back online they flee the scene. Leaving the party, two imps, and the train conductor as the only survivors.
