The Stars Above
Where all life and magic stems from
"Sol is the most powerful of all the stars above us, in fact studies have shown it has the potential to empower every Starless, every Terraborn, and likely seventy percent of the Starborn population too. So why is it one family hoards it to themselves?" - Atsuko Arai
What are they?
Stars are seen in this universe as life giving and magical forces. While a lot is known about the type of magic they possess and bestow upon their wielders there isn't a lot known about how they came into existence in the first place.Major Theories
The following are major theories that many have likely heard in their time: 1. Every star is an incubating god that will one day be born. 2. The stars are themselves sentient living beings that aid people of their own choice. 3. Stars are souls of powerful wizards and sorcerers from the wild era 4. Stars are just fonts of magical energy and die when their power is all used up. Black holes are therefore dead stars and likely evil.Just what do they do?
Beyond shedding light across the universe each star has a connection with one individual on Solus. The type of star a person has a connection with will determine their magical abilities and powers. Stars are therefore categorized by their types of power, with the majority of stars bestowing their partners with only a single type of magic. There are, however, stars that can give multiple types of power. Sol is an example of the most powerful Chromatic Star, as Sol bestows every type of magic upon its Starborn. It's important to note however that stars aren't the only way to gain magical powers, and most druids instead have a connection to the planet of Solus itself. Moons and Other Celestial Bodies also have their own unique powers. Your star is considered to be your 'partner' and each star type imparts special "universal" bonuses to your character, these bonuses are not considered to be circumstance bonuses, item bonuses, or status bonuses and stack with your other bonuses.Types of Stars
