Other Celestial Bodies

"Some Starborn would have you believe that all power comes from the heavens above. They forget that deep in Solus lies a power that could easily challenge Sol. After all only one person has the power of Sol, but a nation's worth possess the power of Solus. Imagine their power if each one came together as one." - Volca of Cragcrown

Source of the Terraborn

While the Starborn gain their magical power through a connection with the stars, Terraborn gain theirs through a connection with one of the other celestial bodies of the universe. Planets, moons, comets, black holes, white holes, protostars, nebula, and other celestial phenomenom also provide their own unique types of magic and power.

Solus

The only life-supporting planet in the universe and the one you're currently on! Solus is the heart of everything, and without it there would be no story. Solus possesses a unique ability to bestow its power to seemingly limitless amounts of people. Most of the people, species, etc, that live inside the crust of the world have been born with this natural connection to Solus.

Any and all classes may be partnered with Solus.   As a bonus when you choose Solus as your partner you receive the following bonuses: +1 universal bonus to fortitude saves against poisons, toxins, and similar. +1universal bonus to will saves against spells, effects, and abilities cast or activated by a Starborn.

Planets

Planets may not be as numerous as stars in the universe, but like Main Sequence stars they are as different and varied as they come. They are seen much the same way as a Main Sequence Starborn is, perhaps lending credence to the fact they aren't so different.

As a bonus when you choose a planet as your partner you receive the following bonuses: Choose any skill of your choice. At level 5 you gain a +1 universal bonus to that skill. At level 10 this becomes a +2 universal bonus. At level 15 this becomes a +3 universal bonus. At level 20 this becomes a +5 universal bonus. +1 universal bonus to Initiative.

Moons

"Moon's Haunted."
Solus has two moons, simultaneously referred to as the Twin Watchers but each having the individual names of Vigil and Wake. Moon's are viewed as objects of occult fascination, some theorized to have been dead planets that decayed to their minute size, while others believe them to have been failed stars. Whatever the truth of the matter is there is no denying that those who are partnered with a moon in the universe are blessed with their occult prowess, and perhaps even something deeper.   The two moons of Solus are partnered with the twin queens of Feidoly, Lonicera (Vigil) and Involucra (Wake).     As a bonus when you choose a moon as your partner you receive the following bonuses:   +1 universal bonus to occultism checks.   You must choose one of the following backgrounds: Empty Whispers, Haunted, Haunted Citizen, or Otherworldly Mission.   +1 to special interactions from the DM.

Comets

Those born to comets are considered to be good omens. Though still referred to as Terraborn multiple attempts at giving them a special designation have been attempted (and failed). As each comet that passes over the sky of Solus is seen as a blessing having come their way. Whether it is a good harvest, a new invention set to revolutionize the world, or the birth of a new prodigy, every comet Terraborn is seen as a physical manifestation of the good will that comet brings to the world. Some theorize that comets are lifegiving entities, that all species on the planet exist from the building blocks of life being brought to Solus by comets.     As a bonus when you choose a comet as your partner you receive the following bonuses:   Whenever you restore HP to a target through magic or skill you increase the amount of HP restored by 1.   +1 universal bonus to Diplomacy checks.

Protostars

Not quite a star yet, a protostar is still gathering mass from whatever star birthing nebula or field it originated in. While some may, upon learning of them, view them as infantile and inexperienced, the truth is that these celestial objects tend to lead to great creators and inventors of the various nations.   As a bonus when you choose a Protostar as your partner you receive the following bonuses:     +1 universal bonus to Crafting checks.   When spending extra days crafting a magical item you reduce the value of the materials you need to expend to complete the item as if the Task Level was 1 higher than it actually was up to a maximum of Task Level 20.

Nebula

After the destructive supernova of a star throws matter in every direction and the Star becomes something much smaller, the beautiful cascade of art that is generated becomes its own force in the cosmos. A Nebula can end up being someone's partner just as easily as a star itself can be. Nebula are seen as the beauty of destruction and creation, and their partnerse tend to be equally split between both with a focus on beauty in all things.     As a bonus when you choose a Nebula as your partner you receive the following bonuses:   +1 universal bonus to performance.   +1 universal bonus to diplomacy checks to "make an impression."

Black Hole

Some stars explode into brilliant nebula and leave behind a white dwarf that helps bestow new life into the universe, some stars become pulsars that spew ancient power into the cosmos, and others? They die and begin to consume everything. Light, matter, life, all condensed into an impossibly small point. These are the black holes. Yet they are not inherently evil nor do they imbue their partners with an evil ambition, like all power and magic it is the person, not the magic, that is evil. Gravity is a neutral force.   This doesn't stop people from always assuming the worst, and the various cults that DO have Black Hole Terraborn as their wielders give others a bad name.   As a bonus when you choose a Black Hole as your partner you receive the following bonuses and penalties.   You take 1 less damage from every source.   You take 2 less healing from every source.   As an extra bonus, if you choose the Cursed background you gain the following:   Your curse manifests more often, requires you to consume more food daily, and upon death you implode into a tiny black hole, sucking in all matter, living and non-living, within a 15-foot radius and immediately destroying it all. NPC's and PC's can resist the black hole's effect with a Strength check of 39.

White Hole

Rumor has it that somewhere, or perhaps sometime, there is a White Hole in the universe. It is never known where it is, it is never known when it is, but scientists and theorists work tirelessly to prove that if there is a black hole, there must be a white hole somewhere else in the universe... The question is, is it in this one?   There are tomes, legends, and lore, of a White Hole partner back in the Wild Age, but never again as a mention of a White Hole Terraborn existed.   You cannot choose the White Hole as your partner, but perhaps there is a way to aquire it.
