History
In the beginning of the 3rd era a small group of Pantheon followers decided to create a great city and thus began the construction of Paradise Stand. The construction took 100 years to complete, but in the end, there was a glowing beacon of hope in the middle of an otherwise hostile and unforgiving wasteland. Things were not always so wholesome though. The First Sultan, Tarlan Frensha, was known to be a cruel ruler who frequently drove many workers into slow and painful deaths. Sultan Frensha spent all 100 years of the city’s construction using the workers as slaves. After a century of constant toil, the finishing touches of Paradise Stand were nearing completion. Unfortunately for the Sultan, his “workers” caught wind that he planned to expel the lowly workers from his perfect city. The workers rebelled within the week, ending the Frensha Dynasty at only one tyrant. The workers chose one Iadrin Gracen, a loyal worshipper of Ferrum to be the new Sultan and thus the Grand Republic of the Forged Hand was born built on Religion. Iadrin only lasted 10 years as he unfortunately turned out to be impotent so he stepped down as Sultan and became the first High Priest of Ferrum and his cousin Lovar Rinurge became the new Sultan and the first in the Rinurge Dynasty. A bonus to Lovar taking over as Sultan was that he had already had a son, Amir Rinurge, 14 years prior. But the peaceful reign of Sultan Lovar had a sudden end after he suffered a heart attack while addressing his people and fell from the balcony to his untimely death. His now 19-year-old son, Amir, was quickly crowned the new Sultan and his reign to date may have not been the longest, but it was a peaceful and prosperous 54 years. Unfortunately, history repeated itself. As with the father so too the son. Amir’s rule was cut short similarly to his father after a heart attack took him to the gods in his sleep. Amir's daughter, Amani took her place as the Republic’s first ever Sultana and has been doing her best to fill her father's shoes. Though she is still young atop the throne, most of the court is not. With most of the council, high priests, and generals being veterans of her father’s era, Amani has all she needs to continue the peacful era that Sultan Amir began.
Religion in The Republic
While the Republic only seems to worship the main 5 Gods of Ferrum's Pantheon; Ferrum, Carraig, Velocita, Ceniza and Galu. They are not religiously closed off and allow their citizens to worship who they please with of course the exception of Cult level worshipping Demons, Ancient beings, etc. All are welcome in Paradise Stand, the Pantheon of Ferrum holds much power within the Republic. The religions have held much power both within the government and in the hearts of the people since it’s inception. To date this has not caused any problems. The high priests of the five and the Sultan have always acted in the best interests of the people and the Republic. Hopefully that trend will continue.
