Coalheart Village

Coalheart is the working-class village that was built on the right Goldhill Island and the quickly found that the main resources on the island were precious metals and gems and many of the villagers found themselves learning gem cutting. About 50 years into digging the miners found themselves breaking into a sealed tunnel leading into the Underdark. The village lost many to the various creatures that invaded from the Underdark and every attempt to block it failed so the village permanently hired some Slayers to live in the underground and slay any monsters that entered from the Underdark. The Village is mostly built underground as to avoid the multitudes of above ground monsters that roam the woods and mountains but there is some development up top for those who require fresh air or prefer to sleep above ground. Village Leaders are voted in after the previous retires or dies and most often the village leader will help in the mines rather than stay cramped in an office all the time
