The Solarian Caverns

The Caverns is a gigantic artificial cave system created by the Old Ones far before Modern Solarians even existed. thanks to it being ignored by the geopolitical powers on the surface, it has become a near lawless location with guilds and groups being formed and wars being waged without any knowledge from the surface-dwellers.

The Wide Tunnels
Deep in the caverns, far from the access points, lies 4 extremely wide and open tunnels. Nobody has made it to the end of these tunnels as they are protected by giant monster-like machines called Everbeasts.

Geography

Most tunnels have rocky walls and ceilings while the floor is completely smooth and is about the size of a large metro tunnel. The tunnels sometimes open up into giant warehouse-like areas called Caches, these can contain rare materials or even weaponry. Some tunnels (notably Tunnel Delta and Tunnel Sapphire) have their original plate metal walls and ceiling making those areas very good landmarks for navigation.

Localized Phenomena

The lower parts of the tunnels often become filled with a thick fog that is burning hot, this is caused by broken exhausts from an Olden Core-Reactor.

Fauna & Flora

Flora
Shroas - a type of glowing mushroom that acts as an unintentional light source in tunnels that have no lanterns in them.
Callow Trees - a tree-like structure that often grows in the walls of the caverns, with half of it always out of the cavern wall.
Eloae's Moss - A blood-red moss that burns and glows deeply to the touch.
Kova's Moss - a snow-white moss found in cold parts of the caverns, it can give fatal frostbite in a matter of seconds
Clona - a large carrot-like vegetable that grows pretty much anywhere, it's the main food source of most of the groups here.

Fauna
Blood Darkkies - A subspecies of darkkies known for their eerie behavior and fascination in old-world religion, they can be found bunkered down deep in the tunnels, feasting on Clona, or at Desert Access Tunnels.
Everbeasts - A monster-like machine that brutally kills whatever is brave enough to move near them. Originally made to transport heavy or dangerous materials between Olden caches and labs.

Natural Resources

Large deposits of gold, iron, copper, and sometimes coal can be found but small deposits of Darkium and Duskium can also be found. The lower areas of the tunnels have oil geysers and gas deposits.
