Ruins of the Precursors
The Ruins of the Precursors are a vast subterranean structures hidden deep beneath the earth, believed to be remnants of a long-lost and highly advanced civilization.
The buildings are constructed from an unknown fusion of seamlessly joined stone and a smooth, radiant material that is both harder than metal and more fluid in texture than any known element.
Ruins in the Fungi Forest
The atmosphere within the ruins is cool and arid, permeated by a metallic scent reminiscent of molten ice. Acoustics behave oddly - sounds echo, but with muted and distorted qualities, contributing to the site’s uncanny ambiance. The unknown material used in construction defies modern understanding. It does not rust or fracture, and its surface is etched with vein-like lines or possible runes.
The main corridor terminates in an enormous chamber, its ceiling vanishing into shadow. The walls are geometrically perfect and possess a silky sheen, although they appear to be made of polished stone. Suspended within this space is a massive, translucent veil, stretching from wall to wall and ceiling to floor. It moves gently, as if breathing due to the subtle draft blowing from behind the veil. This barrier appears to be a hybrid of fabric and energy—part weave, part light.
When touched, the veil displays living glyphs—dynamic, shifting symbols that resemble geometric patterns or emotional impressions. Some glyphs flicker and disappear, while others linger, their meaning elusive. Notably, certain glyphs appear to observe the viewer, suggesting a form of sentient design or arcane interactivity.
These ruins remain a subject of intense scholarly interest and deep apprehension, with their origin, function, and purpose still shrouded in mystery.
