Mirai
Mirai is a small, winged reptile roughly the size of a dog, with the alert posture and sharp gaze of something both wild and watchful. Her body is lean and sinewy, wrapped in dark, matte scales that shimmer faintly in low light—like oiled obsidian. On the ground, she moves with an awkward but nimble gait, wings tucked close, claws tapping softly.
She hatched only recently—the outcome of one of Cronbach’s experiments, a bold attempt to create flying Dragonkin in the image of his ancient progenitor. Disappointed by her, Cronbach deemed her a failure and discarded her. Starving and alone, she was found by a group of adventurers who, recognizing something strange in her eyes, traded secrets for her freedom.
Though still young, Mirai is quick, twitchy, and charged with restless energy. Her flight is chaotic and unpredictable, but she learns fast. When still, she prefers high places—ledges, beams, shoulders—where she perches in silence, observing with uncanny focus.
Unbeknownst to most, Mirai bears Cronbach’s blood, and like her creator, she possesses an affinity for thunder magic, though in raw and modest bursts. When startled or threatened, her scales flicker with faint static, and her wings hum with hidden power. What she becomes in time remains to be seen.
