Yuri Fuwari

I gave my word, and you won fair and square. It seems I will need to train harder in these... computer strategy games, to win next time. But for today, I respect your wish and will reward you as promised.
— Yuri

Yuri is a Koganari, and one of Goldie Kitsune's daughters. She was a former samurai of ancient japan before Goldie took her in and welcomed her in Elystria. The kitsune is a playful but honorable person who loves to bet on the outcome of games she makes with others. Her favourite way of handling her new mortal playmates is to offer them to pick a challenge of their choosing, one in which they are excellent. Then, Yuri will try to beat them while upholding all the rules set. If she wins, she will take the mortal as her guest, and if the mortal wins, she will fulfill them their wish.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Yuri Fuwari is a striking figure, embodying the grace and majesty of a golden Kitsune. Her most notable feature is her nine extremely fluffy and luxuriously soft tails, which shimmer with a golden hue. This golden fur extends across her entire body, creating a radiant and ethereal aura that captivates all who gaze upon her.   Her golden eyes sparkle with a warmth and intelligence that reflect her divine heritage, while her long, silky, light blonde hair cascades down her back, adding to her elegant and regal appearance. Standing tall at over two meters, Yuri's stature is both imposing and graceful. Her form is beautifully sculpted, exuding an elegance and charm that is nearly impossible to resist.   As a Koganari, Yuri possesses the ability to alter her appearance, including her size, to suit her desires or the situation at hand. This shapeshifting capability allows her to blend seamlessly into any environment or captivate audiences with her divine allure. Her beauty is not merely physical but also an expression of her inner warmth, playfulness, and the divine magic that flows through her veins.

Special abilities

Her tails are as beautiful, cuddly, and fluffy as they are one of her mightiest weapons. One swoop and a man vanishes in them. It is quite a view to see her absorbing a whole group of attackers into her fluffy tails without even moving much.
— Guest of Yuri
Yuri is a Koganari and has all the abilities of her species, most of them learned directly from her dear mother, Goldie. The kitsune enjoys especially her abilities in creating playful bubbles and the usage of her tails. While she will use her charming abilities if fitting, she prefers to win challenges without her charm abilities, as she feels that is cheating. A mortal can't resist the charms of a Koganari, after all. Yuri is quite proud of being one of the best Elysian Bubble players, easily beating near all Shrine Maidens, as well as most of her sisters. Yet, naturally, there are few she can't beat, like her mother.

Specialized Equipment

Ah, yes, that is my Samurai armor and my swords. It is- Hey! Do not dare to touch them if you are not planning to spend the next year trapped in a bubble in the darkest corner I can find in my shrine!
— Yuri
Yuri Fuwari cherishes her ancient samurai armor and katanas, relics from her past life that hold deep personal significance. Through her divine magic, she has imbued these items with enchantments that reflect her newfound abilities as a Koganari.   Her samurai armor, once a symbol of her loyalty and martial prowess, has been enhanced to always fit her perfectly, regardless of her form or size. This allows her to don the armor for special occasions, such as duels or significant events, where she wishes to honor her samurai heritage.   Yuri's katanas, meticulously maintained and kept razor-sharp, are stored in her private chambers alongside her armor. She has enchanted these blades with the ability to split magic, a powerful enhancement that allows her to counteract the magical bubbles her mother, Goldie, often uses to trap her. This enchantment provides Yuri with a tactical advantage, enabling her to escape Goldie's playful entrapments without engaging in a futile magical battle.   Yuri takes great pride in her ancient equipment and maintains a vigilant eye over them. She permits only her most trusted guests and favorite Shrine Maidens to handle these precious artifacts, ensuring they are treated with the respect and care they deserve.

Personal history

Early Life
Yoshiro Taira was born in the year 1027 during the Heian period in Japan, within the Heian-Kyo Region, which is now known as modern-day Kyoto. He was a member of the prestigious Taira clan, renowned for their martial prowess and influence within the imperial court. His birth into the Taira clan, one of the four most powerful clans of the Heian period, marked him for a life of service and honor. The Taira clan, also known as the Heike, was celebrated for its military strength and political acumen, often rivaling the Minamoto clan for dominance in the imperial court.
Bandit Hunt
In the year 1061, at the age of 34, Yoshiro Taira was tasked with leading a group of warriors into the treacherous mountains surrounding Heian-Kyo. Their mission was to suppress a band of bandits who had been plaguing the region, disrupting trade routes, and causing the mysterious disappearance of merchants. Upon venturing deep into the mountains, Yoshiro and his warriors discovered that the vanished merchants were not the work of mere bandits but of a mighty Kitsune named Goldie. Kitsune were known for their cunning and supernatural abilities by Yoshiru, and Goldie was no exception. She effortlessly defeated Yoshiro's group, taking several of the warriors with her. He had to observe how the men vanished in her golden tails, assuming she ate them alive. Goldie, surprisingly, offered Yoshiro the chance to join her, an offer he staunchly refused. Respecting his decision, Goldie let him go, but Yoshiro felt his honor had been deeply wounded. Unable to accept defeat, he returned to the nearest village to resupply and enlisted the help of a local hunter familiar with the mountains. With renewed determination, Yoshiro set out once more to confront Goldie. The golden Kitsune seemed pleased to see Yoshiro again, greeting him as if they were old acquaintances, much to his disdain. Despite his preparations, Yoshiro and his new allies were once again defeated. Goldie took more of his men, absorbing them in her tails or trapping them in soapy, magical bubbles. Yoshiro, steadfast in his refusal to join her, was again allowed to leave unharmed. His men, however, joined Goldie as she vanished once again.
Training for Goldie
Unable to return to his lord in defeat, Yoshiro sought permission to train in the local area. Over the following years, he encountered Goldie several times, each meeting beginning with a respectful greeting before inevitably leading to a duel. These encounters became a strange ritual, a dance of honor and respect between the samurai and the Kitsune. By 1068, Yoshiro was 41 years old, his body worn from years of training and battle. He realized that he could no longer match Goldie's supernatural prowess. Contemplating the honorable path of Seppuku, Yoshiro decided instead to offer himself to Goldie the next time they met, accepting that his fate now lay in her hands. When they next encountered each other, Goldie once again offered Yoshiro the chance to join her. This time, he accepted, driven by a mix of respect and resignation. To his astonishment, Goldie did not kill him like he had assumed but instead brought him to her mystical realm, Elystria. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in Yoshiro's life and the end of his days as a Samurai. His lord never saw him again.
Guest of Elystria
Yoshiro spent the subsequent decades in Elystria, a realm that defied his initial expectations. Elystria, the divine domain of Goldie Kitsune, was a place of boundless tranquility and eternal summer. The lush forests, rolling hills, and elegant shrines created an atmosphere of peace and harmony, far removed from the rigors of his former life as a samurai. The air was filled with the soft murmurs of rustling leaves, the distant trickling of water, and the gentle giggles of Shrine Maidens and the playful goddess herself. One of the most astonishing revelations for Yoshiro was the realization that he had stopped aging. Not only did he feel rejuvenated, but his body moved with a freedom and vigor he hadn't experienced in years. Elystria's timeless nature meant that decay and aging held no power, allowing Yoshiro to exist in a state of eternal youth.   Yoshiro quickly formed deep bonds with the Shrine Maidens of Goldie. These foxgirls, with their playful and flirty nature, took care of the goddess and her guests with devotion and affection. Yoshiro often spent time with them, tending to the gardens, playing games, and sharing stories. He also developed a close relationship with Goldie herself, frequently enjoying tea together in the serene courtyards of the shrines. Upon learning of Goldie's divine status as the Fox Goddess of the Twilight, Yoshiro's respect for her deepened. Goldie, pleased with his reverence, began to reward him with personal gifts and gestures of affection. Over time, their relationship evolved from one of respect to a deep friendship, marked by shared meals, baths, and nights spent cuddled in the warmth of Goldie's tails.
Golden daughter
After spending over four decades in Elystria, Yoshiro fully embraced the realm as his home. He had formed deep bonds with its inhabitants, including the Shrine Maidens and other guests who, like him, had been invited by Goldie. Among these guests were some of his former warrior comrades, who had also fallen prey to Goldie's charms and become her devoted Shrine Maidens. Yoshiro's acceptance of Elystria as his home ignited a desire within him to become a true inhabitant of the realm. Goldie, with her keen perception, sensed this longing in Yoshiro. Recognizing his devotion and the depth of their bond, she offered him the ultimate gift: to become fully hers, in both body and Soul.   Yoshiro accepted Goldie's offer without hesitation. Goldie absorbed him into her tails once more, but this time, the experience was profoundly different. Yoshiro's soul became linked to Goldie's, and he underwent a transformation, a rebirth. In his dreams, he envisioned himself wielding Magic, playing with bubbles, and absorbing people into his fluffy tails, much like Goldie herself. When Goldie finally released Yoshiro from her tails, the Human he once was had ceased to exist. In his place stood a new Koganari, a daughter of Goldie, reborn with the essence of a golden kitsune. Yoshiro, now taking the name Yuri Fuwari, embraced her new identity with joy and acceptance, recognizing Goldie as her mother and the source of her newfound powers.   Yuri spent the following decades with Goldie, eagerly learning about her new form and what it meant to be a Koganari. She delved into the mysteries of her divine magic, exploring the limits of her abilities and playing with all the shrine maidens she already had formed bonds with, as well as guests and maidens she meet.
Own Shrine
After spending over a century in the divine presence of Goldie, Yuri Fuwari felt a growing desire for a space of her own within Elystria. She yearned for a sanctuary where she could express her unique identity as a Koganari and create a realm that reflected her personal essence and experiences. With Goldie's blessing and support, Yuri harnessed her divine magic to summon into existence her own shrine fortress, a magnificent structure that embodied her spirit and aspirations. She named this sanctuary Yumegatari, a place of dreams and stories.   Yuri invited several Shrine Maidens to reside with her, filling the shrine with their playful chatter, laughter, and endless games. The shrine's halls echoed with the sounds of their playful giggles and chatters as Yuri and her companions indulged in the simple pleasures of existence, free from the constraints of time and mortal concerns.   As Yuri settled into her role as the mistress of Yumegatari, she found herself drawn to the idea of revisiting Earth, the realm of her former life. Accompanied by Goldie, she began to explore the mortal world once more, curious about the changes that had occurred in her absence and eager to share her divine presence with those who might cross her path. Initially, Yuri's visits to Earth were infrequent, with decades often passing between her appearances. However, as the world entered the year 2024, Yuri felt a renewed connection to the mortal realm. In particular the stories of her mother about the recent changes on Earth, took her interests. She began visiting Earth more regularly, often weekly, seeking out new experiences and opportunities to spread her playful pranks and invite new guests into her realm.

Sexuality

While I allow males to touch my tails if they prove worthy and accept them as close friends, I am not willing to let them see me nude or love them romantically. I am more in favour of women.
— Yuri
Yuri is homosexual and enjoys the presence of other women over men. While she has nothing against cuddling male, and even letting them touch her tails, she clearly prefers it if her partners are female. This goes as far as offering males that want to spend more close time with her, to simply become women, a thing easily possible with her divine magic.

Education

Yuri is well-educated in writing and reading, with her foundational knowledge rooted in the classical traditions of the Heian period of Japan. Over time, under the guidance of her new mother, Goldie, she expanded her knowledge across various subjects, including geography, science, history, and social interactions. Additionally, she delved into the study of magic, honing her abilities in this mystical art. Yuri has also maintained her skills in archery, swordsmanship, and tactical strategy from her former life as a samurai.

Failures & Embarrassments

Despite her extensive training and unyielding determination, Yuri Fuwari, formerly Yoshiro Taira, faced her greatest failure in her repeated attempts to defeat Goldie during her time as a human samurai. No matter the strategy or skill she employed, Yuri was unable to best Goldie in any duel, a fact that deeply wounded her samurai honor. Each defeat was a stark reminder of her limitations and the seemingly insurmountable power of her divine opponent.   At the time, these failures were a source of profound frustration and disgrace for Yuri, who prided herself on her martial prowess and loyalty to her lord. However, in retrospect, she recognizes that these defeats were pivotal in shaping her destiny. They opened the path for her transformation and eventual acceptance as Goldie's daughter, leading to a life filled with growth, love, and divine purpose. Today, Yuri embraces these past failures as necessary steps on her journey to becoming a Koganari and finding her true place in Elystria.

Morality & Philosophy

Yuri's morality is a unique blend of her samurai heritage and her nature as a Koganari, reflecting a complex interplay of honor, playfulness, and personal integrity. Her moral compass is deeply rooted in the code of the samurai, where honor and loyalty are paramount. She holds her word as sacred, believing that promises made must be upheld, no matter the circumstances. Betrayal, deceit, and treachery are viewed as dishonorable acts that contradict her core values.   As a Koganari, Yuri embodies the playful and carefree spirit of a kitsune. She embraces life with a sense of joy and freedom, often engaging in pranks and games that bring amusement to herself and others. Her philosophy is that as long as the outcome is positive and honor is maintained, her actions align with her moral compass. This perspective allows her to indulge in her foxy nature, using her wit and charm to create moments of fun and levity.   Central to Yuri's philosophy is the importance of one's word. She takes great pride in fulfilling her promises and expects the same from others. This commitment extends to her playful bets and games; if she makes a wager, she will honor the outcome, win or lose. However, she becomes easily angered by those who act dishonorably, as it violates the trust and respect that form the foundation of her relationships.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

I bet her in throwing knives. It was a fun contest, and after I won, she indeed fulfilled my desire that I stated before we began: Immortality. Well, that's how I became one of her shrine maidens~
— Foxy Shrine Maiden of Yuri
Yuri Fuwari's primary motivations are joy and challenge, which shape her daily life and interactions. She finds immense pleasure in the simple act of living and sharing happiness with others. Her shrine fortress, Yumegatari, is a testament to her playful spirit, where she gracefully engages in games and activities that bring amusement to herself and her companions.   Challenges are a significant driving force for Yuri. She thrives on the excitement of competition, whether it's a sword-fighting duel, an archery contest, a computer game, a sewing competition, or a test of strength. Yuri's love for challenges is not merely about winning but also about the process of engaging in the contest itself. She respects the outcome, win or lose, and honors the wishes of her opponents, often using her magic to fulfill their desires if she loses.   Losing a challenge serves as a powerful motivator for Yuri. She views each loss as an opportunity to improve and grow, dedicating herself to training and refining her skills to ensure she never loses in the same way again.   Before engaging in any game or duel, Yuri enjoys making bets with her opponents. The stakes can vary widely, from taking her opponent as a guest in her shrine for a while to trapping them in one of her magical bubbles and parading them around her shrine maidens. These playful wagers add an extra layer of excitement and unpredictability to her interactions, reflecting her joyful and carefree nature.

Likes & Dislikes

Yuri thrives on challenges, finding joy in the process of improvement and mastery, whether it's honing her martial skills or exploring new realms of magic. This love for growth is mirrored in her appreciation for those who uphold their honor and keep their word. She often rewards such individuals with invitations to Elystria or future visits, valuing integrity above all else.   Yuri cherishes moments of tranquility, particularly during tea sessions, where she can savor the warmth and comfort of a well-brewed cup. These moments are often shared with her beloved family and dear Shrine Maidens, whom she holds close to her heart. She delights in their company, finding solace and joy in their shared experiences and playful interactions.   Her dislikes are equally pronounced. Yuri holds a strong aversion to coffee, viewing it as an affront to the elegance and tradition of tea. She also has little tolerance for deceit or betrayal, seeing these actions as grave dishonors that she rarely forgives. Her trust, once broken, is difficult to regain, reflecting her deep-seated belief in the sanctity of honor and loyalty.   Yuri also enjoys the simple pleasures of relaxation, often indulging in naps atop large, squishy bubbles she summons. These moments of repose are made all the sweeter when a dear guest is playfully trapped within the bubble beneath her, adding a layer of mischievous delight to her leisure time.

Social

Family Ties

Yuri is deeply caring for her dear mother Goldie Kitsune, in which she sees not only a mother but a close friend and worthy opponent for all kinds of challenges she can think of.

Religious Views

Yuri, as a Koganari, naturally respects her mother and her divinity. After all, she herself holds a spark of this divine power and lives in the Godrealm of her dear mother. While she is not actively praying to her mother as a goddess, she is indeed believing in her and seeing her as something greater than herself. She also is more than pleased if mortals she meets believe in her mother, often rewarding them for this correct choice of faith.

Mannerisms

Yuri Fuwari's demeanor is a harmonious blend of grace, elegance, and playfulness, reflecting both her samurai heritage and her divine nature as a Koganari. In formal settings or during important meetings, she embodies the noble reserve characteristic of the ancient samurai, exuding an air of dignity and composure that commands respect. Her movements are graceful, her speech measured, and her presence imposing yet refined.   However, among trusted friends, family, and those she holds dear, Yuri's behavior transforms into one of warmth, openness, and playful exuberance. She embraces her foxy nature, engaging in lighthearted banter, joyful games, and affectionate interactions. Her playful side is marked by a genuine enjoyment of cuddles and physical closeness, reflecting her belief in the magic of touch and the comfort it brings.   Yuri's duality in behavior highlights her adaptability and emotional intelligence. She understands the importance of maintaining decorum in formal situations while also valuing the freedom and joy that come with letting her guard down among loved ones.
