Univel

Gaima's Grace.

"She walked to the stage with a grace that reminded one of a dove in air or a swan on water. The whole room seemed to focus on her, the lights, the onlookers, even the very air seemed to leave our lungs and circle around her in awe. This was the demand of the Univel, an enforcement of attention. Captivated, we listened and obeyed her every word, completing tasks even better, it seemed, than we would alone."
-The Tale of Commander Zrya
A group of fair-skinned beings, these elves are delicate and kind, putting the rest of their race before themselves and sometimes extending that hand to other races. Specializing in diplomacy, these elves know how to calm any quarrel between two opposing sides and can make a compromise of any situation that leaves both sides satisfied. As result, it's not a surprise that many high elves work below or as leaders of countries and cities.   As it currently stands, the leader of the Univel is attempting to unite all the elf races under one banner. However, this movement is relatively young and many are not giving it a second glance. Others, however, see King Heln to be the herald of a long-forgotten Elven Prophecy and flock to him like sheep to a shepard.

Basic Information

Anatomy

High elves have pale to golden skin that seems to almost reflect light. This makes them unusually eye-catching, meaning that they easily demand the attention of others by default. They are also known by their pointed ears, a staple of all elves. Though, the ears of high elves lay closer to their head than others.   Lastly, High Elves have hollow bones. This makes them lighter and more graceful than other elves, meaning that they can easily dodge attacks and land safely, but it also makes them extremely weak when it comes to damage.

Growth Rate & Stages

Being a long-lived race generally means that the race in question ages slowly, but for the Univel, it's quite the opposite, at least, in the younger years. The growth stages are as follows:
  • Birth-10: Child
  • 10-14: Adolecence
  • 14-100: Young Adulthood
  • 100-300: Dan'ya Stage
  • 300-550: Eld'ya Stage
  • 550-Death: Sa'ya Stage
Generally, Univel are considered children until the age of 10, keeping their childlike complexion and nature until then. However, during the ages of 11-14, they rapidly grow, age and, by the end of this state, are considered fully capable adults. From here forth, Univel remain in this state until they hit their first century and they change once more, entering a life stage known as the "Dan'ya" stage of their life. This state is shown by a general need to settle and have a family, however, can also be determined by a more-... primal nature. The next stage, known as the Eld'ya Stage is seen as a cold one, where most Univel become cold, calculatory, and somewhat distant. Also during this stage, their powers begin to grow into something stronger than they've achieved before. These Univel make good advisers and warriors. Lastly is the Sa'ya Stage, which persists until death. During this stage, Univel enter a state of peace and their emotions return, their power at it's peak here until their eventual death.

Civilization and Culture

History

An evolutionary form the Grey Elves, or Grivel, the Univel are a branch that represents peace and knowledge, embodying Gaima's Grace. The race originally grew from an ancient and utopic city only known as Edlia. Unfortunately, some time around 515, Edlia vanished and a few groups of Univel remained to grow and populate the island country of Berisia.

Common Myths and Legends

An ancient prophecy speaks of a herald that will unite the four elven races under a singular fifth banner. Upon this unity, a god will rise from the ashes of their old civilization and bring forth a new era for the world. This prophecy is forgotten by most but, with the rise of the High Elf Kingdom, it seems to be coming into play.
