Ordvel

Gaima's Devotion.

A dangerous country of trees and monsters, my home country of Hugn was surprisingly missed during the Dark War. I never thought that I would miss the night howls and the oppressively strict rules of my people. However, in comparison to the slaughter of the war, the Blackwood Grove seemed to be a paradise. It is only when I missed my home did I realize the demand of the Ordvel. To survive through trial and error, to live a life of rules built on the mistakes of the past.

- The Tale of Commander Zyra
A solitary and distant group, the Ordvel live a life built on rules and trust. They have a strict code built to keep their people alive in the deadly forests of Hugn. Any who have visited the Wood Elf cities state it to be a wondrous place among the treetops, the only safe haven from the creatures below. These cities span across the massive trees, spiraling up and down into a cacophony of levels and floors. Houses built inside the redwoods are small, but homey. The law is strict, but necessary to stay alive. Breaking the law makes you a liability, a danger, and you are outcast to the forest floors below.

Wood elves show themselves to also be a stalwart ally, regardless of whether you follow their code or hurt them. Their bonds are lifelong and their trust is something to be cherished. This strict code causes the Ordvel to seem cold and calculating to outsiders but, gain their trust and follow their law and you will find a soft and caring creature that would gladly put their allies before themselves. They know how to learn from their mistakes however and grow stronger with each mistake they make.

Civilization and Culture

Common Myths and Legends

An ancient prophecy speaks of a herald that will unite the four elven races under a singular fifth banner. Upon this unity, a god will rise from the ashes of their old civilization and bring forth a new era for the world. The Wood Elves believe that this will only come forth if the other elven races would accept a law that was more concrete than most, a law that would allow them to operate together like a well-oiled machine.
