Golri

Goddess of the Forge

Origin

Golri is often depicted as the creation of Brata and The All Mother, though how exactly is disputed. Devout of Brata say that Golri is their daughter, an outcome of many secret divine rendezvous as the two worked together to change the seasons and create new life. Devout of The All Mother often claim that Golri was created when the two had an argument over the length of the seasons and what should grow in them and that the two had poured their essences into a mold, and crafted the goddess, equal parts of both of them, to solve the dispute. Despite what either side says, however, it is clear that they both had some hand in Golri's birth, as the even-tempered, but stubborn nature of the beautiful new goddess had the hair and skin of Brata, but the eyes and physique of The All Mother.   To the surprise of them both, however, the newborn goddess had little interest in their dispute and used the ores of nature, her taste for battle, the beauty of creativity, and the repetitive cycle of craftsmanship to forge. Slaving in the heat of the summer forge, and cooling her items in the snow of winter, Golri never remarked on their discussion of the seasons, but instead inspired them to create 2 new seasons, Spring and Autumn.

Places of Worship

Golri often does not have her own dedicated places of worship, typically being an addition to All Mother or Brata worship sites, or small private shrines constructed by craftspeople. These small additions or shrines often have an ingot of metal such as iron or bronze, and a hammer. Worshipers often say a prayer, and swing the hammer once at the ingot. When the ingot is flattened, a blacksmith will take the new thin plate of metal and mold it, typically turning it into a decorative emblem to attach to shields, doors, signs, or other such places.

Followers

Followers of Golri are naturally, primarily craftspeople. While called the goddess of the forge, other trade hobbies such as carpentry, jewelers, or even architects often will make a small prayer before projects to Golri, asking for a steady hand and a clear mind in their efforts.
