Kino is the son of Ki.
Kino dies while fighting to defend his newborn son (who will eventually be known as Bentamo when Princess Kempay adopts him by pulling him out of the river). Jaunish guards have come to kill him by throwing him into the river. Kino attacks them and kills them both but suffers a fatal wound in the process. His wife Amra survives along with their daughter Miri.
