Amra is the wife of Kino.
Amra is the mother of Bentamo.
Amra is the mother of Miri.
Ki is the husband of Jangi.
Ki is the father of Kino.
Ki is the grandfather of Bentamo.
Ki is going to die of a poisoned wound from a giant's blade.
His wife Jangi dies of sorrow trying to nurse him back to health and she can't get the healing herbs that she hopes for and dies herself.
Ki cuts off the infected hand and lives on but decides to leave the COD lands.
He goes to Scarlet.
His son Kino marries Amra.
The government of Jaune has decreed that the male children be killed and thrown into the river but let the females live to interbreed with jaune.
The soldiers come while Amra is birthing Bentamo with Miri at her side.
Kino comes out and kills them both but is mortally wounded at the same time.
The family drags the bodies in to the small dimly lit hut.
By the time the second round of guards comes, the smell and the flies are bad.
The neighbors tell the 2nd round of guards that the mother and baby died of a strange disease so they do not even enter the hut and the guards are instead declared missing.
Amra and Miri get Bentamo into the river in a basket and Princess Kempay rescues him. Miri his sister arranges for Amra to nurse Bentamo. Princess Kempay is barren and her husband Tamo wants to have an heir to give to his father King Yulin as his brother Raku is evil and his son Benraku is more evil and he wants neither to rule.
