Root

Described as a large and damp earth elemental who seems to have different fauna on its back depending on the year. Root is also noted to have a small pond where creatures seem to gather even when it travels through the forests. Standing at twenty-seven feet tall and weighing nearly thirty-four tons, Root is considered a danger when it comes to weight alone. Few adventurers have survived the crushing weight of a sleeping Root, though it should be noted if you see an earth elemental with adamantine armor or mythril blades sticking out of it, you should run immediately. Root is noted to be easily disturbed and though it appears as if a turtle when first seen, will immediately transform into a koboldkin dragonkin like creature.

Temperament

Noted to be quite calm and laid back, few of the apex creatures are willing to discuss with a sentient being before killing them. Even fewer are willing to let those it deems unfit to fight it to go free. Root shows his morality as a creature that was once recognized as one of the strongest Pakob in history. Root is noted to be almost without emotion, though if one pays close enough attention to the creature you can tell the distinct differences between the creatures’ emotions at the time. Root is an enjoyer of a fair and honorable duel, and is said to be willing to fight in any way the challenger chooses. Though calm and willing to act personable, Root is still a monster who is cunning and devours those it defeats. Thus, be warned, though honorable, and even kind, Root has embraced his monstrous form and still has an unsatiated bloodlust that seems it fulfills through deadly combat with only the strongest.

History

Root was once known as an air Pakob who had managed to gain the rank of Athi Kan Bodi amongst his people. Having followed the "Way of the Silence Breaking Hand", he founded a large temple on the outskirts of the Primoridal Imperium though his dream would be short lived. For the next thirty years Root would take in many followers and Phrasong to serve the temple and teach its philosophies. While his trusted Phrasong would serve as instructors, it was said that Root would hide himself away constantly reading an ancient tome he had been gifted by a strange black fire Pakob. The book was said to hold unknown powers and through its Root even managed to become capable beyond what any other Pakob had, he would manage to gain mastery over all elements. And with his new power it would only be so long before he would choose or be forced to use it.
As the temple celebrated its thirtieth year, it is said that night that Yacyroxr would arrive with his entire clan at his back. Many historians note that the large territory north of the city was once filled with many temples to different monk orders under the Primordial Imperium . However, with time each would fall as the dragonlord would one by one drag the masters of the temple into a place where even light could not penetrate. Here the dragonlord was said to devour the soul of the masters and then bring the body back as proof of their defeat. One by one the temples fell and were looted, those who refused to follow the honorable path were brutally slaughtered or put in chains to be brought back to entice greater craftsmen with offers of free and exotic slaves.
When Roots temple would find itself in the dragon lords’ warpath however, he would not go gently or allow for a challenge. Instead attempting to perform a ritual that was said to curse Yacyroxr with visions of the future that would only show him his failures, near deaths and depressive moments. With this curse however, Roots was said to have taken in a godly amount of mana in which his body was forced to transform. In exchange for his memories, a reaction between Yacyroxr's breath, Root's curse and the way the sun and the stars looked that day, a creature of destruction was created. Root would transform into a large nature elemental that seemed at first as chaotic as it sounded. The city would be sacked and burned to the ground, the people put in chains and sold, Roots monk fighting style said to have been lost alongside the city. Even to this day, Yacyroxr seems unwilling to settle near the Primordial Imperium for fear of Root returning for his revenge.
