Mesomusa

General

The great volcano in which the Jotun-Modr lived is said to have come to life at the very end of The Clouded Age. That at night it would whisper to its two children, ones who lived within and those who lived above. Asking for them to get along and like a sad father, Mesomusa was always saddened as they refused. And like a sad father, his sadness would turn to rage and eventually cause a mass eruption or so the legends say.

Gods Name

Mesomusa " The First Fire", “The Blazing Father”.

Diety Level

Demi God, though many looked to Mesomusa as a Minor God due to its massive following by the time of the Helmgrind War.

Domain

Knowledge, as his dominant domain and is believed to be one of the few within the Pantheon. With its ruler a mystery or to have already been slain.

Races that Follow

The Jotun-Modr are said to not only live within Mesomusa itself, but as well have full places of worship within each of the Jotun-Modr holdings. As almost every individual craftsman is noted to pay respect to the local deity.

Preferred Item

A Traveling Forge from the Jotun-Modr Clans that has been blessed by one of Mesomusa’s personal priests. Each forge is said to be unique in its design and with its own specific crafts it specializes in. These forges are considered worth far more than their weight in coins, as those recognized as having one are often considered as Masters themselves.

Church/Pantheon

The Church of Forges, a church that is more of a group of shrines in each of the inhabited Jotun-Modr volcanic mountains. Each is designed around a massive forge, where the forge priest dedicates himself to crafting and then melting down items made. However, pantheon wise we are unsure who rules the domain of Knowledge proper. With many believing it to have once been a demon-folk or hag pantheon.

Holy Order

None as of yet, however there was buzz amongst many of the forge priests when we asked about the idea. We believe one may be in the process of forming, though with the Helmgrind war beginning, I believe many will flock to the order for protection and training.

Champion

None as of current though a few forge priests seem to be vying for such a position. Each crafting greater items to out perform the others. But from our understanding, the volcano stays silent as of now.

Symbol

A granite volcano carved on a circular tablet attached to a chain-like necklace. Each ring of the chain is said to be made from an item that was crafted and given up. Each piece of the volcano’s granite is believed to come from the center of a volcanic shrine where the heat is unbearable. Thus the holy symbol is then crafted together as the priest burns within the forge even with mana infused protections, the longer the item takes the craft the greater the holy symbol becomes. However, one's hands and arms have been known to melt away even for those capable of dealing with dragon fire. Thus how long you choose to stay within the forge, crafting your symbol is also a show of dedication through pain in your craft.

Creed

"The fire gives life to our creations"

Follower Count

5,000, almost all of the Jotun-Modr worship Mesomusa, however only around five thousand stand as proven priests and holy men.

Notable followers

None, while a few capable smiths stood out, they would not give us a name and stood only as “Sword”, “Hammer”, and “Tongs”, each masters of their forges. But truly no known name, and no known single place to find them again would be given by any. Instead only speaking of Mesomusa or their craft specifically.
