An excerpt after the incident at a small village near the city The Last Fang.
  I don’t usually journal but for some it hones the mind. I usually work with my weapons or condition myself for that but I need to rest or I will risk breaking something. Today was interesting, this melvin character concerns me more and more. I briefly heard Zilpip call them a beholder and unfortunately it seems to fit him, so I have to keep a closer watch. Can’t risk James being disintegrated. But more importantly the whole town went to shit we came here for an item to finish a thorn in our side and once again it went bad. This James is truly special. He has pushed my skills to the brink time and time again. I had a gut feeling when I joined him after seeing his magic I knew he would take me places I could never dream of. I was prepared for anything but what I saw next was beautiful. I thought I knew swordplay but I was wrong. I am far from the peak or even my goal beyond that. And to believe the figure I saw was just cooking for us. . . no I can't blame myself for not seeing it, what that “Grandpa” did transcends what I know. But I have a direction, I managed to glimpse what I believe to be the fundamentals of what he did HA fundamentals. . . after decades of training to reach the ability of just GRASPING the fundamentals of true swordsmanship. Ah what a wonderfully terrifying feeling, I wouldn't have it any other way. Maybe I can start now, it's just a bit of pain after all, and I wonder if this room can alter the rules of reality to increase the challenge? A novel idea, alright I will stop here the crew needs some inspiration after what they saw today and I believe James fumbled it again. I may write more in the future. The experience was beneficial afterall.
