Drafika

With Drafika believed to be the fourth oldest known continent in the world it is surprisingly the least scarred. With much of the history of Drafika being lost as no species living upon it has ever discovered writing. Most believed it was no more than a land of Apex Monsters and divine beings. However, that was until one adventurer who had built an army attempted to colonize it. Now it stands as one of the most lush and bio diverse lands with little worry when traveling throughout its many paved wild roads.

Geography

Much of Drafika stands as a flat land with only the city of Diamond’s Death and Adventurer’s Beginning said to even have hills nearby. Thus it is believed to be the richest land when it comes to growing food and agriculture as a whole. With many diverse beasts calling it home, the land is perfect for any young settler looking to make his or her start. Though it should be warned, with as inviting as the land is, much of it is washed in newly dead and angry souls. Thus while it makes a perfect land for young or fresh faced adventurers to make their start, it has also seen the most adventurers go missing or outright slain of all. With the most amount of living trees out of all the continents, one should always carry an axe at the ready when traversing the lands.

Notable Mountains

There are no known or documented mountains on Drafika. As the land is incredibly flat and seemingly even the few hills that dot the northern lands are only a mile or so tall. Instead artificial mountains dot around the major cities as they are created from the mass amounts of dirt and stone being moved in order to mine the grounds.

Notable Rivers

Unlike the stories of Crakec, there is no history of what caused the rivers of Drafika. With Gregsmaratam and the gemstone dragon clans being our only source of accounts about the continent. They described both rivers having long since been there before their own arrival and acted almost exactly as they do now.

Elder’s Breath
The lazy river and collection of large bodies of water on the far eastern end of the continent. Elder’s Breath is said to have a unique scent to it that causes draconic creatures to be attracted to it. While at the same time repulsing almost all other non reptilian beings. The river itself is well known for being quite tame and used for transport by the many goblin tribes. With its vast shallow waters being the perfect grounds for rice to cultivate and grow in abundance. It's no wonder the river is constantly teaming with life.

Tanarukk’s Crossing
A massive river that breaks Drafika up into a near fourth of its original size. No one is sure where the river originated from, only that it was there upon arrival by the gemstone dragon clans. Many believe this river was created by Tanarukk himself to keep his children safe. However others believe that Drafika is actually preparing to split into multiple smaller continents with Tanarukks Crossing being the edges of each. With the vast depths of the river, its constant change of direction, it's no wonder it is considered the most dangerous river in the world, giving even more truth to the prior theory.

Notable Forests

With much of Drafika filled with forested lands, it has overall been separated into four distinct forests of note. Each seemingly haunted with the experiences of warfare in The First Age. One can just as easily trip over a root as one would a corpse found laying around.

The Forest of Adventurer’s End
A vast forest on the north west of the continent that is said to have gained its name during Gregsmaratam’s conquest. Seeing the first true resistance to his forces, the local goliath and goblin tribes managed to slay Gregsmartam’s own adopted son and champion within it. With the start of the second phase of his conquest being sullied by the loss of someone so dear.Gregsmaratam would give the order to burn and salt half the forest in response. As the locals would find themselves routed again and again, the draconic forces showed no mercy after their loss. With huge bounties put on tribal chieftains heads, the concept of peace was lost almost entirely. However as Gregsmaratam’s forces began to cross the river Tanarukks Crossing, a small shrine would be built on the banks. All in hopes of remembering the last son Gregsmaratam would ever recognize and to remind his troops of why they are fighting. Now the forest is said to stand haunted with the dead tribesmen and draconic soldiers that fell during the conquest. And with every passing year seems to add another young fresh faced adventurer to its clutches as the forest devours any hope they had of becoming a champion.

The Lady’s Forest
A vastly and mostly undisturbed forest on the south west of the continent. The forest gains its name from the elves who the invading dragons at the time thought were all women. It would later be called “Whore’s Wood” by the gemstone draconic soldiers that had followed Gregsmaratam south in order to conquer the lands. Unfortunately for Gregsmaratam and his host, the elves were not only a bi gender species, they were also incredibly diverse and hard to kill. With each clan having their own variation of martial and mana techniques, the draconic soldiers found themselves horrified by their losses. Even more so when the elves began to eat the slain right before the living soldiers' eyes. With this and later a mistranslation by the Dragon Lords under Gregsmaratam that in draconic read “Begone from The Lady's Forest”, the land would gain peace for a time. However what the warning actually said in elvish was “Begone those foul tasting weak beasts, the Forest Mother has judged you.”. Now the lands stand completely inhabited by the hundreds or so elven clans and a few leftover structures from the end of The Clouded Age.

Elder’s Scorched Rest
A burnt forest that once sat upon the far eastern edges of the continent, surrounding the City of Elders. Now the forest is mostly burnt to the ground and in the midst of regrowing after such devastation, with many noting the Cryptic Kabal as the responsible party. This once vast forest was home to many Glowshell Tortoises who we believe challenged one of their members. Before the forest and many of its residents would be set aflame as if by dragon's breath.

Dark Blood’s Grove
A grove that controls most of the forest in between Diamond’s Death and Tanarukk’s Cottage. This vast grove is said to be filled with worshippers of the Law Bearer of Death as well as many other minor deities offering necrotic mana techniques. While the forest itself has taken on a darker visage, with many of the trees being possessed by evil souls brought back without a vessel. As well as strange mana slimes that seem to be attracted to the golden mesna that flows from the possessed trees like sap. Truly a dangerous forest for even the most seasoned adventurers.

Notable Deserts

While many other continents have seen far fiercer battles, Drafika is noted to be the youngest in terms of bloodshed. Having the war waged by the gemstone dragon clans led by Gregsmaratam himself was the only major conflict until recent history. Thus the landscape still retains much of its fertility as few mages have managed to taint or absorb it.

Diamond’s Landing
A desert in the northwestern part of the continent that is said to have been named after the place that Gregsmaratam’s clan would land. The battle here was said to be so fierce that with so many dragons breathing different forms of gases and flames the land around them eroded into the landscape today. With the desert being well noted for its roaming black and red dunes that are left over from the charred remains of the goblin resistance. The desert now stands home mostly to a rare insectoid like species called “Xill” that are believed to be a primitive form of the thrikreen species.

Political History

With much of the political history lying in the history of Gregsmaratam’s rise and conquest of the continent. Little is truly known of its history prior to that as the continent was previously believed to be a land of savages. However, it should be noted that upon Gregsmaratam’s arrival, local dragon clans who had long since left Crakec attempted to resist him at Adventurer’s Beginning (later renamed Gemcutter’s Port). With few of them lasting more than a year in their attempt, they found themselves given no mercy and instead slain by the brutal gemstone dragon clans.
With time as the city of Adventurer’s Beginning would be built, Gregsmaratam was said to continue his conquest into The Forest of Adventurer’s End before quickly splitting his troops to head both east and south. Eventually this would lead to his forces being pushed back in the south and a large group of gemstone dragon clans rebelling, taking their forces and conquering Adventurer’s Beginning for themselves. It is later believed that Gregsmaratam refused to pass through the forest where he had lost his adopted son and thus let them keep the lands.
After a few more brutal battles, the forces of both sides would settle to the borders we have today. No real peace ever actually agreed upon, but instead a slowing in the direct conflict. Eventually Gregsmaratam would take on The Council of Gems and once again lead them to a slaughter in which he brutally and efficiently removed them from the continent. The clans who resisted were said to be slain and had their corpses desecrated, while those that accepted their new fate were stripped of title and given bounties in Gregsmaratam’s new empire.

Ecology

With such a rich land in minerals, the grounds around all of Drafika are noted to have been quite fertile. This would lead to many beasts and monsters evolving or adapting in varying directions. Many of the creatures and plants of Drafika are noted to be brightly colored and easy to spot. With those not listed on our map often found in the rivers relaxing and staying cool from the incessant heat. Though many note the similarity to Crakec, Drafika seems to have created a land where draconic creatures had not stood at the top. Thus, diverse life was able to be created while still sharing similar traits to their gigantic cousins.

Foundational Flora

Uniquely one of the only lands capable of growing Tilk and Ugly Elder trees, Drafika finds itself diverse in every meaning of the word. With much of the plant life having been tamed in vast quantities for consumption, such as rice, cocoa, maze, and einkorn. No flora seems capable of surviving on this continent without being able to take vast amounts of territory. As those most dominant that have begun to be farmed continue to slowly conquer the rest of the native plantlife.
Beyond just those that can be eaten are the unique trees and flowers that seem to grow in abundance across the continent. With all three of the adventurers' flowers growing in vast quantities anywhere a Xill hive can be found. To the lovely Ugly Elder Trees that can be prepared and eaten as a capable meat substitute. To even the Tilk trees which make for some of the highest quality mage staffs in the world. All can be found in vast quantities, fighting to take the mainstage of the continent's Foundational and Dominant flora title.

Foundational Fauna

Many of the known beasts of Drafika seem to share a similar relation to Abaddon as the goblins under The Masked Elders do. With almost all being able to jump between the two planes willingly, it is a strange advancement for a creature that has no benefit to our knowledge in the wild. Otherwise, the beasts seem to all share in unique mana techniques that seem to favor a specific element. Such as the sunfire chickens who are rumored to breathe fire from all orifices while still having fabulous feathers. Or the Thunderhoof Bison whose every stomp causes the clouds to roar with anger. While not deadly, these beasts are quite dangerous. And while many of the foundational fauna of the land share in these traits, it should be noted these beasts also make excellent starting missions for new adventurers. As many mercenaries even use the forests of Drafika for practice or rights of passage. Thus while the beasts should be looked upon for experience, they should also be respected for their elemental mana technique responses.

Temperature

Much of the lands of Drafika stay at a constant 75f to 102f with almost a full humidity ranking, meaning you will be sweating even in the snow. With temperatures during the winter months only dropping to 30f and then rising to near 70f throughout the day. There is not a day in recorded history that the continent was not hot and horrid to live on. As many describe the hotter months as “Being able to drink the air around you.”.

Seasonal Variations

While Drafika sees all four seasons at only a twelve day variation to the furthest eastern point of Crakec. The lands are considered to be mostly tropical in temperature, with only mild winters having ever been recorded. With much of its summers being quite wet, few are the days that the continent is not covered in “muggy” rain.
