He is known to stand quite large for a snow beard at a rough five foot seven, and weighing in at nearly three hundred and forty-two pounds. His mythril silk merchant attire has been dyed to match his house colors of black, crimson and diamond white. Carrying a large set of monocles that allow him to both read and supposedly see the truth of any deal he is working on. Abba has truly earned his nickname of "The Avarice" through his multitude of dealings throughout the world. Having managed to become business partners with world leaders like Gregsmaratam, Faltharn, and Nolothom.

Founder:

Avarice "Gold Rat" of clan Large Rat, a small snow beard who was said to have a nose for gold. Having left his family name behind, young Avarice took his small savings and invested into a mining adventuring group. Together they managed to find the only diamond and liquid diamond sources in the country. With quick efficiency it is said the stronghold of Diamond Hold was founded and the family began to amass the priceless rock. Though at the time, diamond coins had yet to take off in the snow beard lands, this was where the true genius of "Gold Rat" came into play. Supporting the arms of House Vendkazs, the newly founded Clan Large Rat bribed the Jotun prince in the area. The same Jotun prince who had been slaying multitudes of Hivekin (former beholder) alongside Lesser Clan Eye Stone. Prince Uthem Grunaga and his marry bunch of raiders and liberators would go on to influence and help the house of Vendkazs grow extremely powerful. Through trade and cultural exchange, gemstone coins became the predominant currency of the country. Clan Large Rat and the Gold Rat himself would be sitting on the largest diamond mine in the country and would begin using their newfound wealth and power to buy up the multitude of growing shops. From here Avarice "Gold Rat" of clan Large Rat goes on to vanish from the history books, enjoying a peaceful death at the age of 426.

Subsidiaries:

Lesser Clan Grey Rat
Though originally part of the Clan Large Rat, a new clan had to be established shortly after the expansion of the family outside the country. With this came the young founder and his willingness to follow in the Gold Rat's footsteps. Providing a large sum of assets in tribute each year, the family has gone on to grow quite influential. Many believe the black-market family will soon over take the Large Rat family, Similar to how Avarice II "Bloody Tooth" of clan Large Rat had House Crimson Smilidon overtaken and destroyed.

The Golden Ten
A group of lesser clans who barely qualify through craft or coin. But it is said that each of these lesser clans represent elite craftsmen amongst the Large Rat's assets. Thus, they are treated like proper nobles within the territory of their backers.

Renown members:

Avarice II "Bloody Tooth" of clan Large Rat
Said to be the first and last of the clan to ever raise a blade in the name of the family. Clan Large rat found itself under attack from the shadows by its original founding house. With the fall of the usage of colorium coins, House Crimson Smilidons leader found himself in a serious debt situation. With no way of paying off the crown for recent investment of their stronghold outside of Venkasz Hold. The house of Crimson Smilodon had no choice but to request and when denied, attack their clans for coin. Though unfortunate for them, Avarice II "Bloody Tooth" was as cunning as he was greedy. As soon as the last of the other clans had fallen, Avarice II unleashed his genius. He met with each of the hungry and unpaid officers who had subsided on the loot of their extended families and distant cousins. None with which put a good taste in the soldiers’ mouths as they fed their children with the blood of their kin. Avarice II paid and fed all of House Crimson Smilodon’s soldiers and officers, and when the day came for battle. The poor house general never saw the forty arrows drop down on him from his own men. Within a single day, Avarice II "Bloody Tooth" had the rest of the house assassinated and took five separate strongholds with only seven deaths. None would challenge the clan after this, but forever where they stained to never rise to House rank amongst the nobles of the snow beards. But their barbarity is still feared to this day, and few challenge their nobility without concern.

Abba "Junior" of clan Large Rat
Known to favor "Bloody Tooth" in more ways than one. It is said Abba "Junior" is both his father’s greedy heir proper, but that a dark cunning lies beneath. In his younger years it is said that instead of out competing other goey. He would instead poison them or assassinate them when they grew too strong compared to himself. Though far scarier was as he grew the young man would not only consolidate power away from his waroen father. But as well taking the majority of the family debt that his father had racked up during his magical research. Now Abba "Junior" finds himself cunningly either having each of the debtors vanishing or suddenly they seem uninterested in his accrued credit. Those that vanish seem to always be linked to other clans willing to do anything to get out from underneath their immense debts. A truly terrifying individual who casts a long shadow with a blade far sharper than most.

Locations:

Diamond Hold
A large city known for its immense diamond mines that even today seem to still produce. The stronghold is reinforced with adamantine walls and towers with clerics that seem to cast anti-magic both day and night. The stronghold is an immense showing of wealth but is designed like a large coned spire with the widest parts of it being well underground. The city is said to specialize mostly in noble housing, crafts and slaves. Otherwise, the city is exclusive to all outsiders without invitation, and thus few are allowed to bask in its wealth. The city is rumored to have wine and mead pouring from every corner and fountain. The streets are paved in gold and silver bricks. And at night the city is said to light up with the many glimmering gemstone lanterns that dot the roads.

Sapphire Hold
A stronghold that allows none but the other Large Rat members within its walls. The stronghold is similarly designed to Diamond Hold's defenses; the city’s main difference is its lack of visitors. It is said that the stronghold acts as a getaway for the family. Allowing them to bask in its sapphire hot springs and enjoy the quietness of the country.

Ruby Spire Hold
A stronghold designed purely for military usage. With the majority of the weapon smiths being trained within its walls, the city is known for its loud hammering at all hours. Though like the others, it is unavailable for those not within the clan.

The Emerald Fort
Lastly the fort that stands within the center of the plains between each of the strongholds. This fort is the bread basket of the Large Rat clan, and is said to be able to provide enough food to last indefinitely during a multiple mountain siege. With the crown-like mountains all around, all three of the strongholds have vast walls going between them to prevent entrance to the valley below. Even airships are immediately attacked upon expected visits.
