In Laidian lore, Obji and Sel were always at odds with one another, but until their eventual falling out they never were confrontational. Obji never liked Sel's rampant ego and knew it'd bring his downfall, and Sel hated Obji's nonchalant attitude towards him and Saiji. At one point, they got into a fight due to their tense relation. Their battle caused the terrain about them to be morphed and changed. Mountains grew to towering heights, the seas fell to plummeting depths.
At the end of the battle, according to some lore, Obji won, and tore Sel from the sky alongside thousands of stars. From the stars, Obji crafted a vessel and crown. He locked Sel inside the vessel with a golden crown, grounding Sel.
History
Despite being by all accounts polar opposites, Saiji and Sel always got along reasonably well. Sel frequently visited Saiji, keeping them company.
In some lore, Saiji bound Sel to the earth alongside Obji, and they haven't talked since.
