The Titans of Old

Before the Material Plane was populated, the Universe needed to ensure that the basic mechanics of the world would function smoothly. And thus, the Universe created 4 titans. What these Titans represent is up for debate, though the most common theory today is:

• Time
• Gravity
• Order
• Chaos

The myth is rooted in people's beliefs in how the mechanics of the world works. For example, there is no god of time, but time is a key component for everyone, from beggar to wizard. Therefore, there must be some deity that oversees it but requires no worship.

The myth as stated here is widely known by most on the Material Plane. Some names and details may differ depending on the region.

Most cultures are accepting of these ideas. The ones that speak against it the most are the Council of Stars, as they claim that if there is a powerful deity behind the world's mechanics, then at least one ancestor must have proof of them. But no verifiable proof has ever been found.

Many poets like to use the idea of the fundamentals of the Universe having some level of consciousness as symbols in their poem.

And how could I communicate the answers if I knew?"
