Council of the Three Hammers

The Council of the Three Hammers is the ruling body that governs the mighty dwarven clans of the Draconian Mountains, a vast and imposing range in the northeast of Regalia. Though divided by geography, temperament, and tradition, the three founding clans—Ironforge, Alestone, and Longbeard—have maintained an uneasy but enduring alliance under the banner of unity and strength.
The Council serves as a legislative and diplomatic body, guiding trade, warfare, and technological development while ensuring each clan retains its autonomy. Ironforge holds the central seat, due to its proximity to outsiders and its dominance in magical, technological, and military advancement. Yet no major decision can be made without consensus from all three clans, a tradition that preserves balance but often leads to fierce debate.

Structure

Ironforge - Hammer of Progress The Ironforge Clan, known as “The Hammer of Progress,” occupies the lower foothills of the Draconian Mountains, where its people maintain the strongest ties to the outside world. Led by High Jarl Thorin Ironforge, this clan is renowned for its formidable military, its magical research, and its mastery of advanced dwarven weaponry. Ironforge is home to the mountains’s finest rune-enchanted weapons and it serves as the gateway between the mountain clans and the surface kingdoms. Due to its strategic position and comprehensive strength, Ironforge holds the central seat in the Council of the Three Hammers, where it directs external diplomacy and the defense of the Draconian mountain range.
Alestone - Hammer of Heart Midway up the mountain slopes lies the Alestone Clan, affectionately referred to as “The Hammer of Heart.” This moderately sized but culturally rich clan is governed by Jarl Belgrum Alestone, a proud leader of merchants, farmers, and brewers. The Alestone Clan is best known for its legendary ales, whose recipes are guarded more fiercely than gold, and its vibrant festivals that attract travelers from across Regalia. Their caravans drive vital commerce between the mountain clans and beyond, making them indispensable to the dwarven economy. On the Council, Alestone takes responsibility for internal trade, food production, and the maintenance of civilian infrastructure, acting as the economic lifeblood of the alliance.
Longbeard - Hammer of Stone High among the icy peaks, where the air is thin and unforgiving, resides the Longbeard Clan, called “The Hammer of Stone.” Under the leadership of Jarl Durin Longbeard, the smallest of the three clans has earned unmatched respect for its endurance, honor, and unmatched skill in stonework and warfare. The Longbeards are hardy mountain warriors, famous for crafting frost-forged armor and defending sacred ancestral sites hidden in the snowbound crags. Their fortress-citadels are carved directly into the mountain’s crown, making them nearly impregnable. Within the Council, the Longbeard Clan oversees warrior rites, military tradition, and the sacred defenses that protect their ancient strongholds and clan heritage.
