The Genesis

Celestial / Cosmic

Time Immemorial

The supreme God and Creator, Si, divides Themself and thus creates the world.

The supreme God and Creator, Si, desired a Genesis. They wished to express their unfathomable will, and so, They took a part of Themself and placed it in the void, and the part of Si lit up and cast an eternal light that cut through the emptiness. With nothing to shine on, however, what use would this light be? And so, in Their endless wisdom, Si took the nothingness, diluted a part of Themself within it, and thereby concentrated it into a vast expanse of liquid void; wherever the eternal light touched, the liquid sea of void became clear and took on a substance of its own. But still, the world lay unchanging and desolate, and so Si took the clear sea and the unformed void and mixed it together with another part of Them, and solid earth was made and formed into the continents and islands of the world, sculpted by Si Themself. Even still, stasis reigned, and Si took a part of Themself and created another, lesser light. Taking a small part of the two great lights, Si shattered what part They had taken and scattered the pieces across the void, all around the earth and the sea and the two lights. It was beautiful, and Si knew it was good, but still, something lacked.   The supreme God and Creator, Si, desired much more than the empty, still beauty that sprawled out to the edges of eternity. And so, Si sank Their perfect being into the world, still new, and separated only a small piece of Themself to watch over the world. As Si's unending wisdom had expected, the undying essence of Si Themself was required to bring about something new; and so, in a surprise to even Si Themself, life was created. The trees and plants of the world sprang out of the once-dead earth and out of the once-empty seas and filled the edges of eternity with a newfound, everchanging, splendid life; where life met void, a new air found purchase, replacing the void with substance. Small creatures crawled out with the plants, into the seas and the lands, and they mingled amongst each other, ate of the plants, drank of the seas, and breathed of the air. Some creatures grew, and a great variety was borne of the plants and creatures, and Si's diminished form was nearly content.   Then, lo!, the essence of Si Themself sprang forth from the life in a way unseen; the void was cast away, and a great dome formed above and below the world. The great lights began to move in a cycle of eternity, the greater light borrowed from the pinpricks, the stars, and took on a flaming golden light, creating "day." Thus was the Sun. The lesser light existed alongside the stars and thus began to shine a cool silver. Thus was the Moon. The catalysts of these changes in the cosmos then showed their faces; elder gods, some formed from the essence of Si Themself, and some formed from the void given form by the creations of Si, all reflections of Si's infinite facets. These were the Ether gods and the Void gods. Si, knowing the natures of the new gods, entrusted them with the rest of what would be done, and, fully content with the breadth of Their work, slept.
