Laken (Lee - kun)
Simply put -- elven nobility. They are the equivalent of dukes, barons, marquess, etc. However, elves don't need the multitude of titles. Each and every noble elf is of equal value within title of Laken.
Appointment
A Laken is born into the title, but officially takes the title when they come of age and find a partner to marry.
Duties
A Laken will take care of a city or a small group of towns and villages. They are in charge of taxes, upkeep of the city or towns, and are even given the duty of maintaining the morale of the settlement.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
One may be striped of their title if they have been found guilty of plotting to usurp the throne or unfit to run a city.
