Havenwood Valley

Havenwood Valley

Geography

The valley floor stretches several miles wide, surrounded by the gentle slopes of the Havenwood Peaks. Unique geological features enhance the landscape, including numerous hot springs, a network of creeks that descend from the heights, and a beautiful series of interlocking lakes and waterfalls, weaving through the valley and forming the main waterway beside the town of Havenwood. These waterways not only contribute to the valley’s breathtaking scenery but also provide essential resources for the town's prosperity.

Ecosystem

The old-growth forests of Havenwood primarily consist of oak, ash, and pine trees—each valuable for timber and other uses. Beneath the towering canopies, the undergrowth supports a diverse ecosystem where common forest animals like wolves, bears, and mountain lions roam. The region also harbors a higher than average population of dire animals, including notably robust dire beavers, which are known for their impressive size and the formidable dams they construct in the area's waterways. Additionally, Havenwood Valley is home to magical creatures such as the elusive Ashen Stag, known for its healing properties, and the Whispering Wisps, small luminescent beings that are said to lead travelers either to safety or astray, depending on their fate.
