The Rindō Diviniation
On the third day of the month of Moon, Seppun Raehua entreated the kami for a divination upon the events unfolding in Rindō and its surrounds. In a guided tarot reading, Magistrate Shosuro Jūko drew three cards. They are revealed below:
Death
An end. Transformation. A new beginning. A rising phoenix, born again from its ashes. Yet no birth can be absent pain. How many must suffer so that the new world can be realized? In the flames beneath the holy bird, a myriad of burning bodies writhe in agony. The Moon
Secrets. Deception. A forbidden mystery wreathed in darkness. As the moon turns, it becomes a grinning skull. Mocking. Antlers rise from its sides, branching into a fractal of blooming paths. The Ace of Cups
Love. Family. Intimacy. Yet what spills from this goblet is not water, but blood. Is this promised relationship to be bound in the vital essence, or steeped in violence? Of the three cards, Raehua felt beyond doubt this one was directed at her.Magistrate Jūko was aggressively skeptical; eager to dismiss the foreign tarot reading as a meaningless coincidence. Those others present during the event were certain, however, that they had seen something supernatural in the fluttering candlelight and shifting images upon the cards.
