Achi (pronounced "ah-CHi") is the Chetteran philosophy/religion that permeates their culture. It sets to contextualize the drive to learn and prefect the world while explaining why it is not perfect and what we can do to make it better. It is a combination word of the Chetter word "Ach" meaning "Ideal" and "Chi", meaning "Imperfect". Chet will often use the words solo "Ach" and "Chi" to describe objects, people, or events.
Core Tenants
The core tenants of Achi is the idea that this universe we live in, this world-line specifically, is one of infinate number of World lines that are move up and down this perfection axis. Much like and object can move in our 4D universe (Length, depth, width, and subspace) over the course of time, but there is also a Moral Axis in which objects, people, ideas and concepts move on as well. This Axis is Achi. So over time, a concept can move closer to Ach, and the Ideal, or towards the Chi, the Imperfect.
All partentioners strive to move anything and everything towards the Ach, but learning, testing, and debating about where they think the Ideal Forms of these objects are. "Ach" is often used as a adjective to refere to this idealized state, such as an Ach-Chair or an Ach-Democracy, or Ach-Tree Nut. Long and spirited debates over the qualities of particular objects that may or may not be Ach are common.
This philosophy also leads to a practice of constant tinkering, as they do not want to accidentally settle an object on a False Hill of Ideal. This also leads to the powerful inclination to be contrarian, oppositional and destructive. In order to test the soundness of an idea, they have to poke and prode it to make sure it does not tip over. And do it again just in case. This is not helped by the Chet's natural hyper dopamine systems that leads them to be addicted to learning new things. However, this also lends itself to Chet being remarkable high spirited during failure, as in failure, they have learned one way in which it does NOT work.
Denomonations
There are almost as many demonitions as there are Tribes, hundreds of thousands. Each with the unique set of rituals, practices, and beliefs on what is and is not Ach. And being the Chet, each of these indivisual demonomations mutate quite rapidly. There is no sense of "Tradition" within Chet and the very idea of doing the same thing just becuase we did it that way before sounds foolish and horrifying to them. While they do have the idea of a holiday, or a celebration event, how that is practiced, what is celebrated, and even when it is celebrated is subject to chaotic whims of the Chet mind. Holidays have been known to drift, fall out, change cultural centers, and involve new rituals all in the same lifetime.
This leads to a unique oppotunity for Federation Anthropologist to observe cultural evolution in real time. If the Starfleet can set up a cultural exchange program, scientist would have a gold mine of oppotunity.
Mythology
The Chet Profess that in the before times, there were Concepts, the Ach of the Universe, an Ideal of way things should be. However, due to this prefection being all encompassing, it had nothing to compare itself to. So it separated itself from those that was Not Ideal, the Chi. This created an Axis in between the two forces, and out Universe came out of the unstable balance of Ach and Chi. And ever since then, the Multiverse has unfolded, each timeline worming its way across time and moving either towards the Ach, or towards the Chi over time. Timelines that fall to total Chi fall apart and are destroyed, pruned from the Tree as they have no concept of Ideal left to strive for.
At First, the Ach was simple to reflect the possiblities of the Universe, the Ach-Photon, the Ach-Electron, the Ach-Tetryon. But over the ages as concepts are developed, more and more Achs came to be in the Ideal Realm. Until finally, there was the Ideal Chet, Ach-Chet, shortened to Achet.
Achet, being an Ideal chet, has all the best qualities of any Chet. Four Limbs, lucious multicolored fur, Two eyes, one nose, one Mouth. Achet is assumed to be sapient and knows about the plight of the Chet, trying to reach perfection. However, little else about the deity is agreed upon. Soem demonomations assumed they are masculine, others femimine, and others gender nuetral. Most use a gender neutral pronoun in public out of common courtesy. Any other trait of thier god is up for debate, and based on the paritcular views of who is talking.
