Legatus (Commander) of the Shiran Legion. Senator of Hediro, member of Tharda’s Senate
Hair:
Dark brown, short and well-kept, with a trace of silver at the temples.

Chestnut with an amber gleam—warm at rest, steel-hard in confrontation.
Skin:
Sun-browned from years in the field; his features speak of discipline rather than comfort.
Build:
Powerful yet agile—a soldier who knows how to use strength without wasting it.
Dress:
In uniform, favors the legion’s dark red and steel-grey; in Senate avoids the traditional purple cloak worn, but often dresses in dark blue with purple accents—a compromise between the warrior’s simplicity and the senate’s grandeur. His cloak is trimmed with black fur, a mark of authority rather than ornament.
Impression:Personality:
Quarlid is a man of action more than of words—but when he does speak, even those unwilling to listen do. His speech is plain, direct, and dangerously persuasive. He views the world through strength and duty: those capable of bearing the weight of power are obliged to use it.
Beneath the discipline lies a mind well attuned to politics. He is no brute; his time in the Senate’s corridors has taught him that a smile can be as lethal as a sword. This makes him a rare and dangerous hybrid—soldier and statesman in equal measure.
His loyalty lies Witt Tharda, but chiefly with the Tharda he envisions: a strong, self-reliant republic led by men of will, not by compromising bureaucrats.

Background:

The younger son of the influential Jeredosta clan, born in Coranan but raised in Shiran. While his elder brother Horbil inherited the family’s mercantile and political legacy, Quarlid chose the military path. He rose swiftly through the legion’s ranks—not by privilege alone, but by merit: a rare blend of tactical intellect and personal charisma.
After successful campaigns against bandit forces in western Rethem and several years of service as tribune in the southern army, he was appointed Legatus of the Shiran Legion—a position as political as it is military. His seat in the Senate is regarded as a natural extension of his loyalty to Tharda’s expansionist cause: restoring the republic’s former strength through power rather than diplomacy.
Quarlid is a pragmatist, not a philosopher. He believes that order is born from respect, and respect from fear. Yet he also understands that power must wear the mask of dignity—and in that regard, his association with Serenima Dethale is both strategic and mutually advantageous.

Relations and Influence:

    • Serenima Dethale: A bond that unites politics and desire. He respects her intellect yet fully grasps her ambition. Their relationship is a tactical marriage in all but name—passion tempered by distance.
    • Horbil Jeredosta: His brother and head of the clan. Their relationship is formally respectful yet tense; Horbil deems Quarlid impulsive, while Quarlid sees Horbil as cautious to the point of cowardice.
  • The Senate: One of the younger voices of the Expansionist faction, often chosen to speak when military arguments require polish rather than bluntness.
    • The Shiran Legion: Adored by his soldiers, feared by his officers. He leads by example, but never lets anyone forget who commands.

Reputation:

Among the legionaries, he is known as “The Iron Hand of Shiran”—a title he neither denies nor encourages. In the Senate, he is seen as the young wolf among old hounds: too intelligent to dismiss, too dangerous to ignore. To many, he stands as the emblem of the new Tharda—disciplined, resolute, and devoid of sentiment.
