Kamond (Kah-mah-n-d)
In the first era, Dvergakung's mightiest city, Amurrpatarr, stood behind the great wall of Kinamurin. The city stands in a valley within the Kreigar Mountain range. All buildings within are made of chiseled stone with no perceivable seams to show where one rock ends and another begins. Legends say that Dverakung's smiths carved the city from a mountain at the end of the valley, making every building connected as one large stone. Unfortunately, after the city was sacked by the forces of Dvergakung at the close of the first era, it was abandoned for another two eras to come, having been locked behind the gates of Kinamurin.
The races of Sennbir had all but forgotten of Amurrpatarr. Some legends made mention of a great stone city behind the unbreakable gates of Kinamurin, but many had assumed these to be wives tales. All that was thought to be beyond the wall was more mountain and ghosts of ages long past. Still, many adventurers of the second and third era had tried and failed to breach the sturdy gates at Kinamurin. It wasn't until King Kalmond I of the great kingdom of Dehrburrn made the impossible trek through the southern Kreigar Mountains and opened the gates of Kinamurin that Amurrpatarr was found again.
Within the sturdy stone walls, King Kalmond's people found vast riches from the mines dug into the mountains. Forgotten texts on the first era were found, still on the shelves scholars of the time placed them on all those ages ago. While remnants of those who previously inhabited the city lay burned and decayed amongst the streets, the great buildings remained untouched. Nary a crack could be spotted on any structure. It was for this reason, along with the strength of the wall of Kinamurin, that King Kalmond I's daughter, Queen Jamis would move the empire's capitol to the rediscovered city after her father's demise. She would rename the city Kamond as a tribute to her father.
To this day, Kamond remains the capitol of Dehrburrn. The great chiseled stone structures remain unfased by time and weather. The great wall of Kinamurin stands strong, though the gate largely remains open, even in times of open conflict. Through all of the ages, the city has stood as a beacon of unwavering fortitude against the force of change.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
