Disaster / Destruction
The Fall of Lyss was a period of great decline for The Kingdom of Lyss as it began to be beset upon by increasingly predatory monsters. Eventually, this period of decline fell prey to an abyssal invasion. The nation would not survive, it's people let loose upon the world as nomads awaiting a fabled Great Crusade, to reclaim their homeland.
Starting February 13th 24751, the forty-ninth year of the Tenth Age of Strife the Kingdom of Lyss began to note a dramatic increase in monster citings within the borders of the kingdom and the borderlands between them with Westfall and Avalon. The cause of this dramatic increase in monster activity is unknown though there are several theories. The most commonly believed is that a cult of blood hunters known as "The Sons of Decimatio", the high priest of whom was in fact Prince Decimatio's first born son, were dabbling in ancient lyssian blood rites that lead to the power of The Hunter seeping into the land bolstering the strength of all the monsters within it. By October 31st 24755, during early hours of the day as The Witching Hour was just beginning to be celebrated, everything came to a head when the capital of Maison was attacked as the first of several incursion points where an abyssal army lead by The Hunter himself began to conquerer the land. By November 4th 24755 the army had laid waste to all but the farthest echelons of Lyssian villages on the borderlands between Westfall and Avalon, and while the Princes of Lyss had sacrificed themselves to allow much of the populace to be evacuated it has been estimated less than 35% of Lyssian's survived The Fall. Avalon and Westfall created a bulwark against further invasion by The Hunter's army, but Lyss would remain a corrupted wilderness no one nation willing to commit the resources required to truly free the land from the influence that had devestated it.
