Dread Lords

The Dread Lords are a race of the darkest and most foul souls the world has ever seen. Over the course of a particularly dark life the beguiling influence of the Shadowlands (referred to in some cosmologies as The Shadowfell) draws those souls their trying to halt their slow descent into the influence of The Abyss.   The Shadowlands exists as a planar buffer between the material realm and The Abyss that lies beneath all of reality. The 1st Evil when it walked the face of the world walked amongst the lands that are now long within The Shadowlands, ancient kingdoms of men and other races lost to history as surviving civilization tries to best forget the darkest of its histories. Though the Order of Living Memory does have limited records of the beings known as The Dread Lords.   These beings are the darkest of souls that have not fallen prey to the Abyss, a boon to us all, but a similar ever present threat just on the fringe of our reality. We should be happy that these great evils have not joined the ranks of The Abyss.   Included here is a list of the known Dread Lords:   The known Dread Lords are organized into five orders named for the founding lords of the shadowlands, the lesser human princes who fell prey to the dark machinations of The First Evil:   1.
