The Siege of Vvuldic
The Rekettan imperial colony of New Rolmira came under attack in the early summer (or "Gilda's Observance" month, in imperial records) of foreign opportunistic Orc pirates. The grand conglomerate entity and power Clekvid the 3rd had acquired from general desperation of his kind, lead him to a powerful position and network he used to deploy a siege on the sea for a colony that was better equipped for handling older tribal conflicts of the land. The siege escalated to small battles, and got more violent with time, lasting across the season. However with enough boredom and losses - more than 100 days of siege - the orcs finally gave into pressure and fear that the empire might be checking up on their people again with far more capability of vengeance.
The Conflict
Prelude
Orcasio pirates and spies were steadily watching activity across passing days. Seeing the empire build up a spot, and ship out a stocking exchange, they awaited one day to strike, feeling secure to test and raid the settlement once the empire had made its occasional trip.
Deployment
Clekvid had inherited an older great warship, and had been using it to host a pirate conglomerate in the darker period of post-tyrannical Orcdom. From this, he bolstered up the support for projectile siege weapons, and first disabled the few defensive navy ships the reketta held. A closely coordinated team was also triggered by the effect like a signal, pulling in numerous larger sail ships with weaponized cannons and smaller bastillas installed, blocking off all common exits around the island. The few reketta manning a smaller drift-island were held as hostages, and a dozen rowboats were set out to declare terms with the rekettas on the bay, to which they refused, and a siege was started.
Battlefield
As it was initially just a siege, the first week was just nervous tension. However, upon the second the orcs sent a blood message: Hostages at the drifting fisher & supply check port were mostly killed, with a small few set to swim wounded back to shore with the message that stray firing would commence. Days were spent with cannon boulders lobbed across the air, and the occasional fire being set down from a distance. Row boats would encircle at closer rates, and patterns and formations were set down to scare them, though a few such instances were made where they drew close enough for the reketta to strike back. Bows, arrows, and cannons of the reketta's own making were occasionally used to return fire, but most were unsuccessful.
Islanders began to live a life that would depend somewhat on expecting their very roofs to collapse, and for food to be rationed tightly, while others whispered of fleeing to the deeper ends or calling for treason to surrender in the uncooperative people. Things would escalate when Orcs began to deploy small bands of 'pickers' to come in from the lesser used northern shores, and seep into the forests, spying and cutting into small straggling people. This lead to occasional outbursts of ground struggles, while others were depending more on the idea to dig into smaller tunnel dens for living with slight security. The reketta kept waiting for a slip up, or to hold for the empire's next trip, and the orcs kept pulling off small hit and run assaults that kept everyone in misery.
Outcome
After the orcs conceeded, the empire was made aware of the incident upon their next visit. They sent war supplies at the next chance to begin bolstering their defenses, and even lend Blade service. The Chief allowed one of their war tacticians to oversee a reconstruction of the port, and began to construct what would become Castle Seablood. The orcs regrouped next year, but were quickly outmatched by the reinforced plans of the reketta.
Aftermath
Eventually, disputes and distrust emerged from numerous rumors and changes around the landscape and defenses. Add in rumors and odd information from the mainland about a weakening empire, and it began to fester into an islander war of its own with issues between the castle, villages, and the chief. This siege is attributed for starting what would later become another conflict across mostly just the reketta themselves.
