Session 7: Atria's Vault Report

Mortimer dug through the sewage water and found both The Dragon's Scale as well as the Seeker's Compass. After dismantling the magma trap, Mortimer and Barack were able to find 7 art pieces (25 gp each), spell scroll of Mend the Dying, Potion of Climbing, 2 Potions of Healing, 2,000 cp, 1,200 sp, and 70 gp. Late to the looting, Lacrosse found a vial of dust labeled "Bone of Ogre" needed to cure the Half-Death. After killing the Shambling Mound at the bottom of the water-fall, the party harvested the vines from the moster using them to enchant some of their equipment. Both the Basilisk's Tooth and Lacrosse's Warhammer have been enchanted with the vines, allowing them to do an additional 1d4 poison damage on a successful hit.

The party completed the Vault of Atria quest, and found the last ingredient they may need to make the cure to the Half-Death.

The party was confronted by Atria, a dragonborn with the ability to petrify an individual and turn them into a soldier in his army, though he himself is petrified but able to move similar to a gargoyle. After telling the party that he has been watching them from the walls as they loot his fortune, Mortimer offers that they will give back the Seeker's Compass but not the shield, as payment for killing the Shambling Mound that was lurking in the Vault. After a long exchange, the party realized that since Mortimer already cast Locate Object on the Cure (in this case a page of instructions on how to formulate it), the compass is now useless to track anything else. The party then made a getaway as Barack used a Id Insinuation to incapacitate Atria and allow them all time to escape.

Atria was not defeated so it is possible that he would attack later on or return looking for his shield. Spunker was not involved in any of the fights since he was answering nature's call.
