Scorchlands

In the world of Memento there is a land that was once walked upon by the very gods who created the world. It is said that where the divine would walk there would be scorch marks due to the sheer potency of their power, leading the early mortals of this world to refer to them as the Scorched Ones. After centuries of wars between the armies of the gods, known as the Great God Wars, the early humans, elves, and dwarves began to plant their roots across the land. They benefited from the overwhelming amounts of magic, causing the soil to be beneficial for farming though sometimes a bit erratic. 
Centuries later, the Scorchlands have fallen into a rythmic pattern of a simple life, starkly different from the state they lived in when the gods walked among them. However, there is the ever lurking presence of darkness, waiting for it's opportunity to come in and bring upon the land a new age of destruction. Between boogeymen who keep the kings in their pocket, vengeful dieties seeking to reclaim the land lost, and necromancers seeking to rule empires, it will take the most mighty heroes to defend the Scorchlands from falling.
