Session 11: Rya's Revenge
General Summary
Faced with the task of stopping an ancient ritual strong enough to level the church of Solar in Ultribar, the party is suddenly joined by a Half-Orc named Harold Barber III who aids them in killing an undead mage. The mage sacrificed her own body in order to hasten the spell, leaving the party to choose whether to try to save the church or to run while they still could. In order to stop the detonation of the spell, the party would need to either contain the explosion or destroy the arcane crystals being used to power it.
Clamente immediately found one of the crystals but was not able to break it at first due to only being armed with his fists. In the other corner of the sewers, Dong and Harold were able to shatter the crystal stores easily, but were then trapped in the room that kept the crystal vein. Gar Gar and Steve took the opportunity to escape in case the others were not successful, but upon getting upstairs Steve ran into King Krieg who he warned that he needed to leave the rites or he would die. Gar Gar followed shortly behind and helped evacuate the church.
It was nearly too late for the party to stop it when Clamente finally hit the crystal hard enough to shatter it with his fists, even though he fully dislocated his shoulder. One of the bishops brought the party to a medic where they could recover and patched up Steve and Clamente's lingering wounds, advising they take the week to recover fully before they go into another fight. The party then gained their audience with the King as a thank you for saving him and the church.
The party was reused the help of Ultribar but instead given a choice between either an answer to how to beat the All Father or the location of the other heroes of Lowry. The party in the end decided that the other heroes could help themselves and instead they sought an answer as to the weakness of the father of all giants. They were told that their next stop towards defeating him would be investigating the runs of the Great Tree where the Thri-Kreen used to reside.
